By William Mackay: It’s interesting to see how Amir Khan has suddenly reversed his opinion about the Robert Guerrero vs. Marcos Maidana fight in the span of only two months. Khan recently said that he thought Maidana would be too strong for Guererro. However, today in an interview at worldboxingnews.net, Khan said “Guerrero is a good boxer would have made him look silly at times.”

Khan: I promise you I’ll beat Mayweather within 12 months; a young lion coming through
By Scott Gilfoid: God, man I swear Amir Khan reminds me of David Haye in so many ways. Besides both being Brits, they can blab about themselves all day long if you’re willing to listen. I’ve never seen fighters that are so into bragging about themselves without anything to back it up. Haye’s thing was to yap about how he could beat Wladimir Klitschko.
Maidana spits venom at Khan, says he’s trying to avoid fighting him
By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana reacted angrily to Amir Khan’s twitter remarks today about Maidana having possibly payed Robert Guerrero a step aside fee to get him out of their scheduled August 27th fight in San Jose, California. Guerrero hurt his left shoulder in training, but Khan doubts the authenticity of the injury. Maidana said this on his twitter about Khan’s remark:
Khan doubts Guerrero injury, thinks Maidana payed him a step aside fee
By William Mackay: Earlier today it was announced that Robert Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KO’s) suffered a bad injury to his left shoulder during a sparring session on Wednesday, and the injury is severe enough to knock him out of his important fight against WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana on August 27th.
Mayweather takes shot at Pacquiao and Khan
Morales/Matthysse fight for WBC title and the winner [if it’s Morales] gets Khan
By William Mackay: On September 17th, Lucas Matthysse (28-2, 26 KO’s) squares off against boxing veteran Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KO’s) to scrap it out for the vacant WBC light welterweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner of the fight will likely be a short term champion because both are badly flawed fighters.
Roach: I’ve got two fighters [Khan and Pacquiao] that can beat Mayweather
By William Mackay: Trainer Freddie Roach is looking to pump up his fighter Amir Khan for a bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2012. Pretty much nobody sees Khan as having a chance in a million in winning that fight, but that’s not keeping Roach from telling the world that he does.
Does Khan even deserve a fight against Mayweather?
By William Mackay: It was laughable hearing WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan saying that Floyd Mayweather Jr will probably duck him the way that he’s ducking his close friend Manny Pacquiao.
Khan doesn’t want Maidana rematch, interested in Morales, the fighter Maidana just beat
By William Mackay: Amir Khan is targeting the winner of the Lucas Matthysse vs. Erik Morales fight next month as the guy he wants to fight next. However, he’s making it clear that he wants Morales. It’s up in the air whether Khan will fight the hard hitting Matthysse if he beats Morales. My guess is no. Matthysse hits hard and that will probably exclude him for a Khan fight.
