Broner to prove that he’s on another level than DeMarco

Image: Broner to prove that he's on another level than DeMarcoBy Eric Thomas: Former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) exudes nothing but confidence as he heads into his November 17th fight against WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. While the 23-year-old Broner respects the 26-year-old DeMarco as a fighter, he doesn’t for a second see him as his equal inside the ring or even close to being his equal. He simply sees it as a mismatch.

Broner said to RingTV “It doesn’t matter what he [DeMarco] comes with. I’m just at another level. I don’t see this guy really doing too much.”

DeMarco a good test for Broner

Image: DeMarco a good test for BronerBy Sean McDaniel: In less than two weeks time unbeaten former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) will be stepping up in weight to face his biggest test of his four-year pro career against WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.

This fight will tell us where the 23-year-old Broner is in the talent department and whether he’ll be able to make the same kind of mark at lightweight that he did at super featherweight. At his old weight Broner had a size advantage against most if not all of his opposition. In moving up in weight to the 135 lb division, Broner may not be able to crush his opposition by weight alone like he’d been doing at super featherweight.

Boxing’s next big star

Image: Boxing’s next big starBy Paul Walsh: With the inactivity of Floyd Mayweather, the erratic performances of Manny Pacquiao and the decline of the heavyweight division, boxing is crying out for “the next big thing”.
Luckily for us, there is a wealth of talent ready to step up to the plate.

1. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez– the obvious pretender to the crown. The 22 year old is unbeaten in 42 fights (30 by the way of KO) and is the reigning WBC light middleweight champion. Albeit a padded record and he won the title in controversial circumstances, you cannot argue the Mexican superstar is an accomplished fighter, with immense power, accuracy and lightning speed. I can see him quite easily going through the weights and adding many more big names to his record along the way.

Broner-DeMarco still looking good for Atlantic City on November 17th

Image: Broner-DeMarco still looking good for Atlantic City on November 17thBy Sean McDaniel: Despite Atlantic City being badly damaged by the recent hurricane Sandy that hit the area it won’t have an affect on the scheduled November 17th fight between WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) and challenger Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s), according to RingTV.

Their HBO televised, Golden Boy Promotions promoted fight will still go ahead for the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. The main negative that we may see from this, however, is that the turnout might be lower than what it would have been because many people in the surrounding area are still trying to put their lives back together following the huge hurricane.

Broner wants Ricky Burns after he takes care of DeMarco

Image: Broner wants Ricky Burns after he takes care of DeMarcoBy Scott Gilfoid: Before Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) moves up in weight to light welterweight to look for bigger fights, he’s going to be looking to snatch WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns’ strap as soon as the 23-year-old Broner defeats WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) next month on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.

Broner’s trainer Mike Stafford said to Bleacherreport.com “We’ll go to Ricky Burns and get that other title. He’ll [Adrien Broner] be too fast, too smart and he’s [Burns] not strong enough, these guys are too slow for Adrien.”

Broner’s trainer sees him taking over Mayweather’s spot as Boxing’s number #1 fighter

Image: Broner's trainer sees him taking over Mayweather's spot as Boxing's number #1 fighterBy Scott Gilfoid: Mike Stafford, the trainer for talented lightweight contender Adrien Broner (24-0, 21 KO’s), sees Broner as the soon to be replacement for Floyd Mayweather Jr. as boxing’s number #1 fighter. I think Stafford is right.

If Broner beats WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) on November 17th, Broner will have cemented the fact that he’s the best fighter at lightweight, and he then can move up and knock off a couple of big names at light welterweight and welterweight. I think Broner might be four good fights away from taking over top spot as the best fighter in boxing.

Broner vs. DeMarco: Adrien ready to give a Mayweather-eque performance

Image: Broner vs. DeMarco: Adrien ready to give a Mayweather-eque performanceBy Scott Gilfoid: Boxing may not have Floyd Mayweather Jr. in action that much nowadays, but fans will get an opportunity to see Mayweather clone Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) fighting next month against WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) on HBO on November 17th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Broner, 23, can do everything pretty much that Mayweather can do, but with a much cheaper price tag given that Broner’s fights aren’t yet on expensive $49.95 pay per view cards like Mayweather’s. That’s likely to change in the very near future if Broner keeps destroying his opponents one after another and bringing in huge ratings for HBO.

Adrien Broner: Pacquiao & Marquez don’t want to fight my big brother [Mayweather]

Image: Adrien Broner: Pacquiao & Marquez don't want to fight my big brother [Mayweather]By Chris Williams: Unbeaten former super featherweight champion Adrien Broner doesn’t see the point in Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KO’s) and Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KO’s) fighting yet again after having fought three times already. Broner thinks that neither Marquez or Pacquiao want to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr, and instead fight each other.

Broner sees it as a money grab by both fighters and thinks they’re just trying to make as much money as possible before they retire. Pacquiao and Marquez will be fighting on December 8th on HBO pay per view on December 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

DeMarco: I can stop Adrien Broner

Image: DeMarco: I can stop Adrien BronerBy Scott Gilfoid: WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) thinks he’s got the power and the skills to beat undefeated Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) next month in their important HBO televised fight at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. DeMarco, 5’10”, thinks he has the power to hand the 23-year-old Broner his first loss of his four-year pro career.

DeMarco said to Fighthype.com “I have the capacity to stop Broner, mentally and physically…If he doesn’t make the weight, then there is no fight.”

Kellerman: Broner should be top 10 pound for pound if he dominates DeMarco

Image: Kellerman: Broner should be top 10 pound for pound if he dominates DeMarcoBy Scott Gilfoid: If Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) can destroy WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21 KO’s) next month on November 17th, HBO’s Max Kellerman feels that the 23-year-old Broner will be ready to break the top 10 pound for pound lists in boxing. I completely agree with Kellerman. A great win over the tough as nails DeMarco should put Broner in the top 10, although I doubt that will happen.

Kellerman told Thaboxingvoice.com “If he [Broner] dominates DeMarco, that’s a real bold statement. To me, he jumps to the top ten on many pound for pound lists as many expect he will end up anyway.”
