Their HBO televised, Golden Boy Promotions promoted fight will still go ahead for the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. The main negative that we may see from this, however, is that the turnout might be lower than what it would have been because many people in the surrounding area are still trying to put their lives back together following the huge hurricane.

Expecting fans to come to the fight only a week and a half removed from a terrible hurricane is asking a lot of them. It’s unfortunate that the fight can’t get moved to another location like Las Vegas, Nevada or perhaps Broner’s home city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Either of those places might be preferable to Atlantic City at this point. But if Golden is okay with the fight likely having a really low turn out then it doesn’t matter. It’s enough that HBO is picking up the fight and televising it nationwide in the United States.

This fight is an important one for Broner and could have a huge impact on whether he’ll be able to make it to the next level to become a future mega star/pay per view type of fighter like Golden Boy is hoping he’ll be. Broner looked poor in his toughest fight of his career against Daniel Ponce De Leon last year, and he also looked less than impressive against pressure fighter Fernando Quintero, beating both fighters by questionable decisions. DeMarco is a step above De Leon and Quintero in talent.

If Broner can’t handle the pressure that DeMarco puts on him we may see Broner lose for the first time. It’s hard to look at Broner’s performances against Quintero and De Leon and see him as someone that can make it to the next level. Broner looked lost in those fights and he never did figure out how to handle the pressure that they put on him. DeMarco is like a bigger, stronger version of De Leon and Quintero, and Broner is going to have some problems if he can’t get him out of there.
