Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) is predicting a knockout of Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) on March 30th when he defends his WBO junior middleweight title against him in the headliner on Amazon Prime Video PPV at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
It’s going difficult for the 35-year-old Thurman to go the 12-round decision with the hard-hitting Tszyu, considering he’s coming off a two-year layoff, and has never fought in the 154-lb weight class.
It’s going to be awfully tough for Thurman to keep from getting knocked out in this fight with Tszyu because he’s only fought once in the last five years and struggled against an old Manny Pacquiao in 2019.
Tszyu’s Knockout Vision
“The one that drops under six,” Tim Tszyu told the media when asked which version of Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman will appear in their fight on March 30th on Amazon Prime Video PPV in Las Vegas.
An early knockout for the 29-year-old Tszyu makes sense, considering he’s the ideal opponent to do that against. It’s fair to say that Thurman lost his hunger and ambition for the sport a long time ago, and he’s only coming back now to refill his bank account before returning to his inactivity.
PBC must have felt they needed Thurman to help sell the March 30th event on Amazon Prime Video PPV.
Look at it this way. If they had chosen one of the talented 154-pound contenders, like Erickson Lubin, Xander Zayas, or Israil Madrimov, they wouldn’t have been able to sell the event on PPV because they’re not big enough names to get the casual boxing fans to purchase the event.
Thurman with Better Resume
“He’s got the caliber. His name is much better than mine ones. His resume is much higher. I completely agree with that, but he’s never faced a Tim Tszyu in his life. That’s the most challenging part for him,” Tszyu continued about his headliner clash against former WBA & WBC welterweight champion Thurman.
‘One Time’ Thurman has faced better opposition during his career than Tszyu, but he still has a weak resume. Thurman never fought Terence Crawford or Errol Spence Jr.
“I’m not the type of guy that waits. If I’m going to wait six or twelve months for a fight, that’s not going to be me, and if the boys can make a fight in between, I will fight in Australia,” said Tszyu.
