Fury Focused: Oliver Guarantees “Gypsy King” in Peak Shape for Usyk Clash

Tyson Fury is laser-focused on his undisputed heavyweight championship match against Oleksandr Usyk and not slacking off as he did in his last contest against Francis Ngannou.

Commentator Spencer Oliver dismisses Fury’s poor effort against Ngannou (0-1) last October as a situation where there was no “fear factor” and didn’t train properly because he felt that the former UFC champion had never boxed before so that it would be a piece of cake.

WBC heavyweight champion Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) has learned his lesson and is taking his fight with IBF, WBA & WBO champ Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) seriously, as he shouldn’t, and will be 100% ready to battle him on February 17th at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Farewell to Ngannou, Hello Usyk

“Tyson Fury, trust me, will be in the shape of his life going into this fight with Oleksandr Usyk because he knows what he’s going into. Forget that performance against Francis Ngannou,” said Spencer Oliver to iFL TV, insisting that Tyson Fury will be better prepared for his fight against IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on February 17th than he was for his last contest against Francis Ngannou last October.

Fury looked the same against Ngannou as in his previous four fights, but he was facing a guy who was too powerful to maul. The Gypsy King Fury had gotten away with Mauling in his fights with Dereck Chisora, Dillian Whyte, and Deontay Wilder x 2, but he couldn’t do that against Ngannou.

Leaving No Room for Doubt

“You won’t see that again because that was Tyson Fury [not prepared]. When you don’t have a fear factor as a fighter, you might cut a few corners training because you think, ‘This geezer has never boxed before,'” said Oliver.

“‘I’m going to play around with him [Ngannou] and put a bit of a shown on and I’m going to have this undisputed fight,’ and it went horribly wrong for Fury because get obviously didn’t recognize how good Ngannou was. That was Fury underestimating and having no fear factor.”

Fury needs to focus more on boxing and lesson on Mauling if he wants to beat Usyk.

“You won’t see Fury like that again. I think size is going to be a huge factor in the fight, and Fury has got a great boxing IQ as well. I fancy Tyson Fury to put on a masterclass on the 17th,” said Oliver.
