Mayweather will give Pacquiao a good beat down, says Floyd Sr

pac006By Chris Williams: Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr is predicting that Filipino star Manny Pacquiao will be receiving a real beating when/if he faces his son Floyd Mayweather Jr (47-0, 26 KOs) in his next fight in May.

Floyd Sr thinks Pacquiao will wind up with his ear, nose, mouth and eyes dripping red blood from the battle wounds he’ll receive against Mayweather Jr in their fight.

Floyd Sr doesn’t see Pacquiao as even good enough to beat Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, a fighter that Mayweather Jr clowned in an easy 12 round decision win in September 2013.

The Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations have reached a slow point recently and it’s still up in the air whether the fight will take place or not. However, we’re going to find out soon whether the bout will go down or not, because it’s not expected that Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum will stick it out with the negotiations beyond the end of this month.

“I see him giving Pacquiao a good beat down, him bleeding out the ear, out the noise, out the mouth, out the eyes,” Mayweather Sr. told the Thaboxingvoice. “That what I’m talking about. Pacquiao can’t even beat Canelo . Pacquiao ain’t stronger than Canelo. Pacquiao don’t box as good as Canelo. He hits much harder, much better boxer. All we going to do right now is time him to death.”

That would be a sight if Mayweather were to reduce Pacquiao’s face into a twisted wreckage of torn flesh and oozing blood from cuts and a bloody nose. What would be worse is the lasting memory that boxing fans would have after a beat down like this. It would be a situation where fans would likely forever remember how badly Pacquiao was beaten by Mayweather.

That obviously would help Mayweather’s legacy in a huge way because he would look like a legend if he were to give Pacquiao a beat down like this. It would help cement Mayweather’s claim of being better than Sugar Ray Robinson. How could you argue against that if he reduced Pacquiao’s face to a pile of bleeding rubble.

It’s a given that Mayweather will be looking to time Pacquiao all night long if/when they face each other. Pacquiao’s style of fighting makes him predictable because he comes forward with the same kind of style each time, and he can be hit when he gets within punching range. For Pacquiao, he could suffer another knockout loss if Mayweather times him perfectly the same way that Juan Manuel Marquez did in their fight in 2012.
