Frampton and Brook with good chance of picking up world titles

brook542By Tom Berridge: Belfast’s Carl Frampton and Sheffield’s own Kell Brook are almost certain to become IBF Champions within the next 30 days.

Kell Brook is facing IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter next weekend on August 16th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, who in my opinion has won his title, simply by facing Devon Alexander at the right time. And let’s not be foolish enough to think that Paulie Malinaggi was any kind of test, other than a banker victory for Porter in their fight last April.

Porter recently said verbatim I’ve definitely faced tougher opposition than Brook. I disagree with that statement. It’s about the same in my opinion, with Porter being so limited in boxing skill and Brook being able to take a punch, I see nothing other than Brook out boxing Porter on all levels. He may take a couple on his way but I see nothing other than a Brook win and a new British World champion.

Carl Frampton has already dominated IBF super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez having knocked him out in round 9 of their fight last year in February and completely dominating the fight. Frampton may have taken a few bombs on route to winning easily but what do you expect? This is boxing, Frampton is far the superior fighter and technician on all levels and having beaten him already. Kiko will be fighting his own demons in that fight and Frampton will know he’s going to win! The Frampton vs. Martinez rematch will be taking place on September 6th in a fight that will be staged in Frampton’s home country at the Titanic Quarter, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Martinez will be fighting away from home in front of a large pro-Frampton crowd like he did last year when he fought Frampton at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
