Will Floyd Mayweather grab the opportunity to become the greatest ever

mayweather322By Mohamed H: Floyd Mayweather stands alone. No one is at his level. No one is dedicated to his craft like he is. Mayweather is a maestro that gives recitals every time he performs. He is the Pavarotti of boxing.

Watching Mayweather fight is a pure joy and a lesson. The way he adapts to his opponents style, the way he nullify them, the way he makes them look ordinary, the way he picks them apart…what’s not to like? Mayweather is the ambassador of the sweet science, the watcher, the gate keeper. That’s why he’s the biggest pay per view star. That’s why everyone wants to fight him, not only for the biggest payday of their career but to have the chance, the privilege to test themselves against greatness.

However, Mayweather is close to the end of his great journey and has four to five fights left. He said that he’ll be fighting until the age of 37 and has already reserved two dates for 2013. I just hope that he will come to realize that he has a golden opportunity to go down in history as the greatest ever to lace up.

In order to achieve that, Mayweather needs to fight Canelo, Martinez, Pacquiao (who will win in a spectacular fashion in his fifth fight against the proud champ Marquez) and one or two rising stars. He will make a ridiculous amount of money in those fights, break viewing and gate records. Fans will turn those fights into mega events because they will realize that they have only a few fights to witness greatness in action.

Mayweather should have no fear of defeat or loosing his beloved “0” because that won’t matter nor will it tarnish his legacy in any shape or form. The “0” will always be there for Floyd.

Zero fighter at his level. Zero talent like his. Zero sweet science professor like him. Zero p4p worthy to be on the same list than him.
