Image: Mayweather Jr. lambasted Pacquiao for the 55-45 purse split, clearly, Floyd doesn’t want the fightBy Juan dela Cruz: In an article at Fighthype.com last October 31, 2012, Floyd Mayweather Jr. lambasted Manny Pacquiao for offering him 55-45 purse split with the bigger slice for Mayweather Jr. Floyd said Manny is on the decline and that he has a boss and does not make his own decisions.

Aside from that, Floyd insisted that Manny’s numbers are way below than him (referring to ppvs) and that Manny cannot dictate the terms of the fight nor make such offers. And again, Floyd was saying that his name cropped up during Manny’s interview because they just want to sell the fight (against Juan Manuel Marquez) using his name.

Whew! Firstly, it was clear that Manny was not using Floyd’s name to sell his fight with JMM. Floyd’s name was mentioned only because one of the reporters asked Manny what is the status of the dream fight. Manny simply answered that he made Floyd the offer of 55-45 purse split with the bigger slice going to Floyd whatever the outcome will be. Second, Manny made the offer in trying to make the fight happen. Remember, Floyd said before that all Manny has to do is to step up on the plate and call him out. So why is Floyd lambasting Pacquiao for making such offer? It’s the same as calling Floyd out but why he doesn’t want to be challenged? If he doesn’t want the offer, he could make a counter offer. Actually, Manny’s offer was a counter offer. Floyd priced himself out in saying he wants all the ppvs which could run into 200M dollars or more and giving Manny only 40M. Therefore, Manny’s was just a counter offer. Floyd’s contention that Manny does not bring in the numbers Floyd was bringing and therefore he can’t make an offer is just a smoke screen to avoid Manny. There is no other fighter in the world that can bring huge number other than Floyd except Manny Pacquiao. Pac is the most exciting boxer in our era and undoubtedly the most popular. Floyd will not earn the same number he will be earning in this fight against any other fighter. So saying Manny does not have the numbers is only Floyd’s another excuse. It’s funny to hear Floyd saying they dictate the terms of the fight. Yes they did, and one thing clear, Manny agreed with all of their terms and still the fight is not happening. Why? Simply because Floyd’s terms change every time Pac agrees to them. Floyd changes his goals every time they are met, which mean only one thing, and that he is avoiding Pacquiao.

Third, again Floyd is bringing the old issue of Bob Arum as being Manny’s boss. What the heck! Why would Floyd care about who should be Pacquiao’s boss? It will be Pacman who’s going into the opposite corner of the ring with Floyd and nobody else. If Arum takes bigger percentage from Manny, it is none of Floyd’s business because they were clearly Pacman’s money. Manny is generous enough to pay many people to work for him, it’s Manny’s problem and not Floyd’s.

It is clear that Floyd doesn’t want the fight. If Pacquiao made a counter offer, all Floyd has to say is a simple YES or a NO and not a non-sense illogical rant. Again, Floyd is recycling old issues just to avoid Pacman, purse split, rbt, Bob Arum etc., etc. Boxing fans should just move on, the fight isn’t going to happen simply because, as I’ve been saying in all my articles, Floyd doesn’t want the fight.
