Image: Lemieux to fight on Pascal-Kuziemski undercard on December 14thBy Allan Fox: Middleweight David Lemieux (27-2, 26 KO’s) will be fighting on the undercard of the Jean Pascal vs. Aleksy Kuziemski on December 14th at the Bell Centre, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The 23-year-old Lemieux still doesn’t have an opponent for the fight but it’s expected to be someone not too difficult for him. Lemieux has won his last two fights after suffering losses to Joachim Alcine and Marco Antonio Rubio in 2011.

Lemieux ran out of gas in both of those fights after failing to score early knockouts like he’d grown accustomed to. It is hoped that Lemieux will learn to pace himself a little better and build up some stamina so that when he does fight opponents that extend him into the second half of fights he won’t run out of gas so badly like he did in the Alcine and Rubio losses.

However, Lemieux is still rushing out and trying to KO his opponents like usual. In his last two fights against B level opposition, Lemieux has knocked out his opponents in one and two rounds respectively, showing that he doesn’t seem to understand what these fights should be used for.

Lemieux is going to have to work on learning how to box because he’s not going go far if he all he can do is rush out and try and score 1st round knockouts. While that may work against 3rd tier opposition it won’t always work against the best fighters in the division. If guys like Rubio and Alcine were able to wait him out and then pound him then it’s safe to say that other top middleweights will be able to do the same thing against Lemieux. He might be able to KO some of the top guys but he won’t be able to beat the skilled fighters with excellent boxing skills that how to beat crude sluggers like Lemieux.

Other fights on the card are as follows:

Eleider Alvarez vs. Edison Miranda
Logan McGuinness vs. TBA
