Walker, 33, is getting Adamek at the right time in his career when he’s lost a step and is now more hittable than ever was in his career.

Walker said “They run as much as they want, they’re going to get caught.”

Walker is coming off of an impressive 6th round TKO win over Kali Meehan last March. Before that, Walker was beaten by Kubrat Pulev by a one-sided 12 round decision loss last October. That was a complete opposite type of performance from Walker. It was as if he wasn’t even trying and had just given up. He had the power advantage over Pulev but wouldn’t put the trigger on his shots.

The 6’4 1/2″ Walker is easily the biggest puncher that Adamek has ever faced before in his career. Adamek has been in with Chris Arreola and WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, but neither of those fighters have the power that Walker has in his right hand. Adamek has shown vulnerability at the heavyweight level when getting hit hard.

Adamek was staggered multiple times by Arreola in his victory over him in 2010, and then further hurt by 39-year-old Michael Grant and Vitali in their fights. Adamek was faster on his feet two years ago, and he’s clearly slowed and not chance in his last fight against Eddie Chambers last June. Adamek has been slowing down before that. A slower Adamek is going to have problems trying to get away from Walker and if he can’t get away from Walker than he could be in big trouble.

Adamek looked poor in his last fight against Chambers. He was dominated by the faster Chambers at times despite the fact that Chambers was fighting with only one hand after injuring his left bicep early in the fight, forcing him to switch southpaw often in order to use his right hand as a jab and then turn around to land clean right hands. Adamek was too slow to block shots and it made him look old.
