Image: Weights: Tyson Fury 245.5, Maddalone 232.5By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (18-0, 13 KO’s) weighed in at a this 245.5 pounds during his weigh-in on Friday for his fight this Saturday night against 38-year-old journeyman Vinny Maddalone (35-7, 26 KO’s) at the Hand Arena, Clevedon, Somerset, UK. Maddalone, who is being brought in to add another scalp to Fury’s resume, weighed in at 232.5 lbs.

Fury looked thin at the weigh-in like he’d lost too much weight during training camp. Fury has been working more on his diet lately, avoiding junk food to try and trim down the large spare tire that he’s been sporting around his midsection for ages.

Although Fury did look a lot trimmer than usual, his midsection still looked flabby like he could stand to lose another 20 pounds from that area of his body.

Unfortunately, losing weight doesn’t come from just one area, and if Fury was to actually take the flab off his midsection entirely, he’d probably waste away to little more than 210 lbs in my estimation. That’s the tricky part of when you fat in one area of your body. It comes off everywhere when you lose it and it’s difficult to trim down pot bellies.

At 6’9″ 245lbs, Fury is thin for that height and he’ll likely have problems if the stockier, more solidly built Maddalone takes the fight to him tomorrow night. I think Maddalone has a good chance of winning this fight if he lets his right go and focuses on Furys’s head. The Brit has been down before and he can be hurt.

There’s not much of an undercard to speak of to go with this fight. I don’t see any future world champions. It just looks like a ton of domestic level fighters. I guess it doesn’t matter when Fury is fighting. He brings in the fans himself.

Here are the official weights for the card:

Tyson Fury 245.5 – Vinny Maddalone 232.5
Lee Haskin 117.25 – Stuart Hall 117.75
Chris Eubank Jr 162.6 – Terry Carruthers 162.7
Lenny Daws 137.75 – Dean Mills 141
Phill Fury 149.5 – Andrew Patterson 150.25
