Image: Escobedo: Broner is the best fighter I've ever facedBy Scott Gilfoid: Vincente Escobedo (26-4, 15 KO’s) paid his respects to Adrien Broner’s huge talent by saying he’s the best fighter he’s ever fought in his career. This comes after Escobedo was destroyed by Broner last Saturday night in a 5th round TKO loss that was televised on HBO and beamed across the United States. Broner definitely showed that he’s got the goods to take over for Floyd Mayweather Jr. when he retires in the near future.

Every part of Broner’s game was like watching one of Mayweather’s old fights from earlier in his career. Broner has every part of Mayweather’s game completely down to the letter. He’s perfect copy.

Escobedo said this about Broner as quoted by RingTV “Every other fighter in the past that I’ve faced has not been that difficult to hit with a clean punch, but Adrien Broner was definitely difficult to hit. He’s definitely the best that I’ve faced, defensively, because he made it very difficult for me to throw.”

Well, there it is. Broner is the most talented fighter that Escobedo has ever been in the ring with. Escobedo has previously fought Michael Katsidis and Robert Guerrero. I have a lot of respect for Guerrero, and I think Katsidis is a decent fighter too. He completely blew away the Brit Kevin Mitchell a couple of years ago and him cringing and turning his back to him in a unmistakable sign of surrender if I ever saw one.

Broner completely took the overmatched Escobedo apart with pinpoint shots, landing uppercuts and powerful body shots. The punches to the body had Escobedo not knowing where to guard. Each time he’d drop his hands to try and block shots to the body, Broner would tag him to the head with a monstrous shot. In rounds four and five, Broner walked Escobedo down, blasting him with hard shots that had Escobedo’s nose bloody and looking broken. Luckily for Escobedo, his trainer Joel Diaz waived the white towel of surrender in the 5th just when Broner was smashing Escobedo along the ropes with shot after shot.
