Garcia’s father, Angel Garcia, joined in as well, criticizing Khan’s fighting style, and telling him that he got his backside whipped in his last fight against Lamont Peterson last December. Angel pointed out that Khan tries to blame his loss on the judges instead of himself.

Danny Garcia said to fightnews.com “I usually don’t make predictions but I will stop him in the 9th.”

This is one of the better punchers that Khan has faced in his career. Khan has only fought two punchers during his career – Marcos Maidana and Breidis Prescott – and he was knocked out by one of them. Khan probably would have been stopped by the other [Maidana] had the referee working that fight not broken up the action so frequently when Maidana had Khan hurt on the ropes in the 10th and 11th rounds.

Now you’ve Garcia, who is different from those guys because he’s a lot faster, throws a lot more punches, and is arguably much better skilled. He’s also just as tall as Khan, and that’s a going to be a problem for the British fighter because he’s frequently been bigger than his opponents during his career.

Prescott was the one exception, as he was an inch taller than Khan. Peterson was about the same height as Khan, and you could see how this hurt Khan because he couldn’t just stand on the outside and jab away. Garcia will be the same only he’ll be a lot more dangerous than Peterson because of his speed and punching power. Khan is going to have to run if he wants to keep from getting knocked out in this fight.
