Image: Team Pacquiao: "Mayweather fight doesn't make economical sense" - This statement doesn't make logical senseBy Peter Wells: Last year the names Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather hardly featured in the same sentence but already in 2012 the two names are all that are being talked about in boxing. So, Floyd Mayweather isn’t going to jail until June and is ready for Manny on May 5th.

Pacquiao is also ready for the fight so why am i not writing an article informing you that the Superfight is official. Well as i’m sure you’ve heard Pacquiao’s management team believe that a fight at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas doesn’t make economical sense and they should fight at another venue at another date.

I’m not going to take a punt at how much either fighter will earn for this fight but i’m guessing it’ll be very, very high and that’s not including what’ll be record breaking Pay-Per-View figures. The fighters and management get a huge load of cash and the fans get the fight they’ve been waiting for.

Floyd’s last 5 fights have been at the MGM Grand, including the superfight with Oscar De La Hoya and the British invasion when he fought fan favourite Ricky Hatton. Mayweather has done pretty well for himself fighting their, which is why i don’t understand how it doesn’t make sense.

As has been the scenario from the beginning but it suits even more now, it would be nice if they all thought about the fans for once. I think i’m speaking for all sporting fans across the world, i don’t care where it happens, i just want it to happen, as long as i can turn on my TV on May 5th and see Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight, that’ll do me.
