By Daniel Echevarria: Boxing Fans I feel totally compelled to write an article about the nonsense that Floyd Mayweather has started today. If you are an early fan of hip hop music there was a group called “Public Enemy” whose second hit single was called “Don’t Believe the hype” which is so fitting for this totally bogus whirl wind started today.
According to Elie Seckbach of ESNEWS in a recent video he (Elie) posted on YOUTUBE Jan 8 2012 titled “Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto Elie Seckbach says too this young fighter working out that he (Elie) spoke to Floyd Mayweathers people and they told him that they will announce Floyds opponent in a week or two and it is going to be “A SHOCKER”. I encourage all of you to check that video out so you can hear it for yourselves because with that being said that tells me that the Mayweather Camp already knew by the time they spoke to Elie Seckbach and by the time he posted that video that the deal was signed and done with his next opponent.
Fans once again “Don’t Believe the Hype” you yourselves think about this whole thing objectively and look past the smoke and mirrors of both fighters Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. First look at Manny Pacquiao this guy knows good and well that he has absolutely no say whatsoever in who he fights or where he fights which he just said this week via Fight Hype and philboxing he said(Pacquiao) “Whoever the fans want me to fight, I will face him atop the ring.
I don’t choose fight. It is my promoter who does because it’s his job. My job is to fight, everybody must realize that,”! How much more plain is that but at the same time he shouts from the roof tops “I want Mayweather” or “ Negotiations are 90% done” or now “ I want Mayweather Next” but still remember fight fans he just said “My Job is to fight I don’t choose who I fight it’s my promoters job (Bob Arum)”.
Finally let’s not forget Floyd Mayweather the master of the media spin the master of publicity and the master of fooling the boxing public all together. Think about this last year when Floyd announced his clash between Victor Ortiz via his Twitter Page he said something to the effect of “Ok I had my fans waiting long enough my next opponent is Victor Ortiz”. Once again the deal was signed and stick a fork in it DONE but we found out weeks later but Mayweather and Ortiz already knew, so fight fans do you really believe Floyd Mayweather was serious with his statement today and do you really believe he still doesn’t know who he is fighting next? How convenient it is that he is about to announce his next opponent in the next few days but he post Manny you’re a PUNK and step up May 5th I’m ready let’s do this”.
Fans once again “Don’t Believe the HYPE” because this is exactly what Floyd Mayweather wanted and needed to boost attention in anticipation for the announcement of his next real opponent and if it is someone mediocre from what the rumors are I will be watching FAMILYGUY on fight night mark my words and check for yourselves !
