This is good news for American boxing fans because HBO and Showtime have become selective when deciding to air the Klitschko brothers’ fights. Due to most of the fights being one-sided mismatches, HBO and Showtime haven’t been showing the Klitschkos fight.

The last fight made it on HBO between Wladimir and former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, but that was a special case because the fight was a huge one and was perceived to be a competitive fight. It didn’t turn out that way, as Wladimir cruised to an easy 12 round decision win over the timid Haye.

Now Wladimir is matched up against an even an easy fight in Mormeck and this could be a real stinker of a fight unless Mormeck can show some offense. He’s a really small fighter at only 5’11 and could be one of Wladimir’s shortest opponents he’s faced during his career.

The fight looks to be a mismatch and will probably end up that way unless Mormeck can get lucky and land one his big shots on the jaw of Wladimir. At only 214, Mormeck may not have much of an effect on Wladimir even if he lands his best shots. Wladimir is accustomed to fighting bigger fighters than Mormeck and this is going to be a fight that’s the equivalent of a huge super heavyweight against a short, aging cruiserweight.
