It’s going to be great when Mayweather comes back and wipes out this Pacquiao hype

By Dave Lahr: I am really looking forward to Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0 25 KO’s) getting his legal problems taken care of in 2011 and coming back to wipe out Manny Pacquiao, and exposing him in the process.

Once Mayweather takes Pacquiao to school and beats him as easily as Mayweather beat Ricky Hatton, we can start focusing on the fighters that really matter. If Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, wants to keep matching Pacquiao against old shot fighters or faded ex-paper champions from his Top Rank stable, then that’s cool.

It’s just that fans won’t likely pay any mind to Pacquiao once Mayweather does a number on him. As good as Mayweather is, he could come back right now and literally whip Pacquiao without a tune-up fight before. That’s how good Mayweather is and how limited Pacquiao is. At least after Pacquiao is beaten up and sent on his way, we won’t have to listen to Roach’s yapper all the time about how he thinks Mayweather is afraid of Pacquiao and how he thinks Pacquiao would beat Mayweather.

We need to have this fight taken care of once and for all, so that we can get down to the business of putting our attention on the number #1 fighter in boxing Mayweather Jr. I’ll personally put Pacquiao on ignore once Mayweather does a job on him. I’m already ignoring Pacquiao because he’s not facing any live opponents anymore and seemingly avoiding Juan Manuel Marquez and Sergio Martinez, two guys he should have fought a long time ago.

What is the guy doing fighting Shane Mosley? That’s Mayweather’s leftovers. Is that Arum wants Pacquiao to be doing? What a waste. Mayweather needs to come back and soon so that we don’t have to sit through Pacquiao’s mismatches against faded paper champions anymore.
