Image: Haye may have found his excuse not to fight the KlitschkosBy Scott Gilfoid: It is just so off-putting to see all the bellyaching WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is doing after IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko decided to take one measly tune-up fight before their scheduled July 2nd bout. The way Haye is going on about it, you’d think Wladimir swiped Haye’s favorite teacup. I think Haye was really looking for this excuse just so he doesn’t have to fight Wladimir. Just look at this statement made by Haye:

“I’m done with the Klitschkos. I know I can retire later this year with my head held high, knowing I did everything in my power to make these fights happen. I’ve had defining fights and beaten the best in the world as a cruiserweight, but without me, Wladimir can never say he’s done the same as a heavyweight.”

Oh brother. Haye’s done with Wladimir just because the guy wants to fight a tune-up before their July 2nd bout? If you ask me, Haye was looking for a way out and he found one. Nobody goes apoplectic like that when nothing is being affected. Wladimir is still fighting Haye on July 2nd, so why is he getting his panties in a bunch? If Haye really has a problem with all this, well then he can always fight Vitali Klitschko, can’t he? I mean Haye did say he wanted to fight both of the Klitschkos, not just one of them.

So why doesn’t Haye make himself useful and fight Vitali first if he’s crying over Wladimir fighting a tune-up? I think we all know why Haye won’t be fighting Vitali. I think Haye is afraid of Vitali.
