No reason was given as to why Pavlik won’t be facing Edouard. As of now, another opponent is being looked for.

Pavlik, 28, really needs to look good and it would be to his benefit if a high profile opponent were to be found for him for November 13th. Pavlik has lost two out of his last four fights and really needs to try and make boxing fans forget about how terrible he looked in both of those losses to 43-year-old Bernard Hopkins and 35-year-old Sergio Martinez.

His fight with Edouard was supposed to have been a catch weight bout at 164, which would have made it easier for Pavlik, in theory, to fight near the middleweight limit of 160. However, Pavlik probably needs to move up in weight to either the super middleweight or light heavyweight division, because he’s too big for middleweight and he’s having a lot of problems making the weight nowadays.

The problem for Pavlik is that the super middleweight division is loaded with top talents and it’s unlikely that Pavlik would ever win a major title at that weight class. Pavlik is probably going to try and stay near the middleweight division for as long as possible, because he has better chance of winning another title or titles at that weight compared to if he were to move up to super middleweight or light heavyweight.

Pavlik needs to face someone decent for November 13th, because he’s fighting in he co-main event and it won’t look good if Pavlik is put in with a no name fighter that boxing fans have never heard of and don’t really care about.
