Image: Bradley willing to fight Pacquiao or MayweatherBy Chris Williams: With the bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao not doing well because of Pacquiao’s reluctance to take random Olympic style drug tests, unbeaten World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (25-0, 11 KO’s) is willing to step in and take on either Mayweather or Pacquiao, according to Fight News. Bradley, a total professional, is even willing to move up to welterweight to make a fight with those two. By choosing Bradley as an alternative, Pacquiao and Mayweather can’t go wrong. Bradley is considered to be the best fighter in the light welterweight division by many boxing experts.

I have to agree with that belief. Bradley appears to be a level above the other top light welterweights like Amir Khan, Kendall Holt, Juan Urango, Marcos Maidana, Ricky Hatton, Devon Alexander, Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi, Andriy Kotelnik and Junior Witter. The only thing that Bradley is missing is experience against a big named fighter like Mayweather or Pacquiao. A fight against either of those will likely give Bradley the missing ingredient to make him a star like them, even if he does lose.

Bradley might be the best option that either Pacquiao or Mayweather have right now. Shane Mosley, the WBA welterweight champion, is scheduled to fight WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto in January, so he and also Berto would be unavailable for a fight in March.

In his last fight, Bradley easily defeated number #1 challenger Lamont Peterson by a one-sided 12 round decision on December 12th. In some of Bradley’s other fights, he’s beaten Junior Witter, Edner Cherry, and Kendall Holt. Bradley was controlling his fight with Nate Campbell in the early going of their fight in August when Campbell was cut badly over his left eye from a head butt.

Bradley would also be agreeable to take the Olympic style random drug tests for a fight against Mayweather or Pacquiao.
