By Tom Eynon: As I was reading on a particular website, I found myself fixated on an article to the point of reading the blog posts at the bottom. It is truly entertaining to view the opinions of so many fans around the world, giving their version of the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao.
Most of the time I take opinions with a grain of salt, because so many of them are surrounded around the Fan, rather than the true reality of the situation.
In truth, no one knows what is going on with the negotiations between camps. As we have seen thru the years, both sides have had their share of blame.
In reality, both would have to be completely illiterate to not know what fans have been calling for, for nearly 6 years. It is difficult to imagine otherwise.
That being said, while looking thru the blog posts I stumbled upon a video in which opinions are given from fans, reporters, fighters, and even Floyd himself at minute 9.
It is very difficult to defend Floyd after watching this video.
As a fighter/promoter/manager/matchmaker, if Floyd is really is sincere about making this fight (as he stated on a Showtime interview), then he has all the decision power to make it happen.
However, negotiating is a task each side needs to put more effort into. Learning to give a little on each side has been nearly impossible, and has only given the sweet science a black eye thru the years.
Unfortunately no matter the opposition and opinion, in the end numbers/stats tell the story. Because of this, Floyd does deserve the better share, but to a limit. No matter the cut Manny does agree with, Floyd will at least double what he can make in any other fight that can be made.
As a smart money maker in this sport, Floyd is completely aware of this. Which can only lead us to assume he is truly scared to make this fight.
