Price, 28, will now fight former Commonwealth heavyweight champion Sam Sexton (15-2, 6 KO’s) on May 19th at the Aintree Equestrian Centre, in Liverpool, UK.

The 6’8″ Price is expected to win this fight without too many problems due to his huge size and power advantage over the 6’2″ Sexton. It will be a big ask for Sexton to be able to rise above his past performances to fight out of his skin to pull off an upset of this magnitude. However, Price isn’t unbeatable as we saw in his stoppage losses in the amateur ranks to Bermane Stiverne and Robert Cammarelle. Sexton isn’t in their league in terms of power, but he hits hard enough to KO Price if he fights aggressively without fear.

A lot of the fighters that Price has been beating recently have been guys that have hung back hoping not to get hit. They make it easy on Price by not putting any pressure on him and allowing him to pick his spots to load up. The way you beat Price is the way that Stiverne and Cammarelle did by going right after him, putting a lot of pressure on him and loading up with everything for head shots. Those guys never focused on Price’s body and instead went after his head and ended up badly hurting him. This is Sexton’s chance because he’s got decent power in the five or six rounds. He tends to fade a little bit after that point. But if Sexton doesn’t go after Price immediately then Sexton won’t be around to see the second half of the fight.
