Martinez, 37, has already said that he’s willing to move back down to 154 lbs to make the fight with the 22-year-old Alvarez in order to try and recapture his WBC 154 pound title that Martinez gave up when he moved up to middleweight.

Besides Martinez, Golden Boy is also interested in trying to put a fight together between Alvarez and Floyd Mayweather Jr, or Miguel Cotto for May 5th. Obviously, the Mayweather fight would be #1, Cotto #2 and Martinez #3 in that order in terms of fights that Golden Boy wants for Alvarez. However, the Martinez fight might be the more realistic option for Golden Boy to make because Mayweather and Cotto might be tough to get in the ring with Alvarez.
