By William Mackay: Just as I thought, former World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) is having second thoughts about dropping out of the Super Six tournament following a 12 round unanimous decision loss last Saturday night to Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KO’s) in Herning, Denmark. Following the fight, which the 32-year-old Froch feels that he won, he learned that his next stage 3 Super Six bout will take place in his competitor Arthur Abraham’s home city of Berlin, Germany, instead of Froch’s city of Nottingham, England.

By William Mackay: Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch has been saying that he won’t have any part of fighting Arthur Abraham in Germany, and is insisting on the fight taking place in Nottingham, England. But I expect for Froch to come around eventually when he realizes what he stands to lose by not agreeing to make the fight there.

By Sean McDaniel: The German news organization Bild.de is reporting that former International Boxing Federation middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) will be meeting WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-0, 20 KO’s) on August 21st, in the stage 3 part of the Super Six tournament in Froch’s home city of Nottingham, England. Abraham, 30, says “After my defeat in the United States against Andre Dirrell, I would love to fight in Berlin’s O2 World Arena. The Arena is my fortress.” That won’t be happening. The Abraham-Froch bout will take place in Froch’s home city of Nottingham, meaning that Abraham is going to have to be really bringing it in terms of his offensive fire power, because it won’t be easy beating Froch in his home.
