by William Mackay: 38-year-old former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (49-5-1, 43 KO’s) made it known today that he’s interested in fighting World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) in a press release that was sent out by Briggs’ team. Briggs tells Haye, “Don’t waste your time” with Wladimir Klitschko. Briggs obviously isn’t just thinking of Haye’s own welfare, though, as he wants Haye to fight him instead, as if we didn’t know. Briggs lost his WBO heavyweight title three years ago in a lopsided 12 round decision loss to Sultan Ibragimov in June 2007.

Audley Harrison doesn’t give Haye much chance at beating the Klitschko brothers – News
By William Mackay: Speaking from experience, European Boxing Union (EBU) heavyweight champion Audley Harrison (27-4, 20 KO’s) doesn’t give fellow Brit WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) much of a chance at beating either of the Klitschko brothers if and when Haye decides to fight either of them. Harrison has sparred with Haye in the past and knows how good he is. In an article at the Sun, Harrison says “Haye will have a puncher’s chance against the Klitschkos but that’s about it. He’s far too open [defensively] to cause too many problems for the top heavyweights. Being so open, might make Haye exciting, but that style has the Klitschko brothers chomping at the bit to fight him.” I 100% agree with Harrison. Haye is completely wide open when he throws his big haymaker shots and especially wide open against big heavyweights like the Klitschko brothers.
It’s Time for the Klitschkos to put up or shut up
By Steven Wain: As you may have seen, one half of the Klitschko brothers Wladimir Klitschko has issued a challenge to WBA world heavyweight champion and boxing sensation David Haye. I would firstly like to say what a stupid move by Wladimir, as I feel he does not even deserve to be in the same ring as Haye. Haye is no Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev, Hasim Rahman or Tony Thompson, the past four fighters Wladimir has fought to keep hold of his titles.

By William Mackay: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko plans on making World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye suffer when and if they are able to agree to financial terms during their negotiations for a unification bout. In an article at ESPN, Wladimir said “I want to enjoy punishing him [Haye] for 12 rounds and then knock him out at the last moment. I promise you, I will knock him out if he has the courage to fight me. It’s not sadistic, it’s just a wish. I really don’t like anything about him. He lies, he’s sneaky, but this is a personal issue for me. I don’t like him.” I’ve never seen Wladimir so upset about a fighter before during his career.
Will Haye be satisfied with a 40-60 offer from Wladimir?
By Scott Gilfoid: I think WBA heavyweight champion David Haye should only get 20% of the revenue in a fight with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. But to make the fight easier to get made, let’s say Wladimir offers Haye 40% to take the fight. Will Haye go for this or will be stubbornly hold out for 50% or more for a fight with Wladimir? I think with Haye’s ego, he’ll take nothing less than 50% and possibly will want even more.

By William Mackay: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko thinks that WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is plain scared of him and thinks that Haye will back out of a fight with him. In an interview with AP, Wladimir says “I understand he’s scared, but just get yourself together, and maybe you’ll get a lucky punch or whatever.” Klitschko, 34, is tired of Haye and really wants to take him apart in the ring. Wladimir doesn’t just want to beat him. He wants to make Haye suffer for 12 long rounds and end up with what Wladimir calls a “Pizza face.”

By William Mackay: Tom Loeffler, the manager for K2 promotions, doesn’t think that it’s realistic that a fight can be put together between World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye and IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko with Haye asking for a 50-50 cut of the revenue. In an interview with Boxing Fanhouse, Loeffler says “We’ve had contact with Haye’s people to feel them out to see where they’re at and see what kind of financial structure to see if it’s possible [to put together a fight between Haye and Klitschko].
Prediction: The Haye-Klitschko fight will never be made
By William Mackay: Many people in the boxing world are excited about the prospect of a heavyweight clash between WBA heavyweight champion David Haye and IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. As of now, the two fighter’s management will meet on Thursday to try and arrange a fight for later on this year. However, don’t bet on the fight taking place now or ever.

By William Mackay: Talks between management representatives for IBF/WBO heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) and World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) will start this Thursday according to news from Sky Sports. Haye and his manger/trainer will be looking to get a better deal out of Wladimir than last time they negotiated for a fight a year ago in June. Haye didn’t have a title at that time and had only fought twice at heavyweight against Tomasz Bonin and Monte Barrett. Haye has since beaten WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev and John Ruiz in back to back fights.

By William Mackay: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko doesn’t have a lot of faith in what World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye says after having two fights, one against him and the other against his brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, go up in smoke. In an interview with Reuters, the 34-year-old Wladimir says “Haye cannot be trusted. We twice wanted to fight him, but he always pulled out.” Haye developed a back injury weeks before his fight with Wladimir last year, which ruined the Klitschko-Haye fight that was supposed to take place on June 20th in Germany.
