Chisora vs. Klitschko: Will be swinging for the fences against Wladimir

By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) knows what he has to do in his fight with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) on April 30th in Mannheim, Germany. Chisora knows that Wladimir has a glass jaw and that he falls apart mentally if you pressure him a lot. The good thing about fighting someone with as many fights on his record as Wladimir has is that Chisora will have been able to study all of Klitschko’s fights to notice his flaws.

If there was any doubt in my mind that Chisora was going to beat Wladimir on 4/30, that doubt was erased after I saw how good Chisora is looking. I’m really impressed with the improvement that he’s made in his speed and power.

Haye vs. The Klitschko’s – Will it ever happen?

By John F. McKenna (McJack): Boxing fans are tired of the on again off again saga of a potential fight between David Haye and either of the Klitschko Brothers. Boxing fans, depending on their preference, tend to blame it on Haye if they are a Klitschko fan, while Haye fans blame the stalemate on the Klitschko’s.

Klitschko vs. Chisora: We could see an early exit if Dereck taps Wladimir’s glass jaw

By Dave Lahr: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) is one of those types of weak-chinned heavyweight that are fine as long as he’s not getting hit. When Wladimir is throwing shots on the outside and pacing himself so that he doesn’t run out of gas, he’s very good and hard to beat. But if Wladimir faces a smart and tough heavyweight like Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster or Ross Puritty, things don’t go well for Wladimir because he gets knocked out.

Chisora-Klitschko: Dereck will have the answers to solve the Wladimir puzzle

Image: Chisora-Klitschko: Dereck will have the answers to solve the Wladimir puzzleBy Dave Lahr: It’s been seven years since IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wadimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) has tasted the bitter feeling of defeat. Since being stopped by Lamon Brewster in April 2004, Wladimir has been able to roll over over-matched opposition like Tony Thompson, Hasim Rahman, Sultan Ibragimov, Eddie Chambers, Samuel Peters, Chris Byd, Ray Austin, Calvin Brock and Eliseo Castillo.

Holyfield reasons that the Klitschkos don’t want to fight him because he’s too dangerous

Image: Holyfield reasons that the Klitschkos don't want to fight him because he's too dangerousBy Jim Dower: Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield (43-10-2, 28 KO’s) has a fight against Sherman “Tank” Williams (34-11-2, 19 KO’s) on Saturday that the 48-year-old Holyfield hopes will lead him to an eventual fight with the Klitschko brothers. However, Holyfield says he understands why the Klitschko brothers have been reluctant to fight him all these years, reasoning that due to his age and talent, it’s a fight in which the Klitschko brothers would have nothing to gain from facing him and are better off facing softer opponents.

Klitschko vs. Chisora: To beat Wladimir, Dereck must fight an inside war

Image: Klitschko vs. Chisora: To beat Wladimir, Dereck must fight an inside warBy Dave Lahr: Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) needs to go back to old tapes of IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s defeats against Corrie Sanders, Ross Puritty, and Lamon Brewster to try and figure out how he can beat him on April 30th when they fight at the SAP Arena, in Mannheim, Germany. Chisora won’t be able to beat Wladimir by standing on the outside like most of Wladimir’s opponents have foolishly done in the past. Chisora has to walk Wladimir down and get inside as quickly as possible to feast on Wladimir’s head and take advantage of his inability to fight in close.

Holyfield-Williams: Should Evander get a title shot against Haye or one of the Klitschko brothers if he wins?

By Dave Lahr: Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield (43-10-2, 28 KO’s) is stubbornly committed to fighting for and trying to capture all the heavyweight titles before he retires from boxing. Holyfield is now 48, and his skills have badly eroded to the point where he doesn’t look anything like he once did. On Saturday, Holyfield is facing 38-year-old Sherman Williams in a pay-per-view card at the The Greenbrier, in White Shulphur Springs, in West Virginia. Holyfield should win this fight without any problem, but that’s not the point.

Klitschko vs. Chisora: Dereck needs to take advantage of Wladimir’s excessive clinching

By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) has the talent to knock IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) out without any problems in their fight on April 30th in Mannheim, Germany. All Chisora has to do is be smart and notice what I’ve observed a long time ago about Wladimir in terms of his constant clinching and holding. If Chisora is astute, he’ll notice that Wladimir can no longer fight without clinching eight to eleven times per round.
