Tyson Fury targeting Deontay Wilder for fight in UK after Chisora fight

deontay1By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) wants to lure #1 WBC Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) over to the UK so that he can try and beat him this year. Fury, 25, is going to have a lot of time on his hands after his fight against Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) on July 26th before he finally gets a crack at IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion for a world title shot.

So instead of sitting around and doing nothing, Fury wants to try and take the hard hitting Deontay’s scalp in a fight in the UK. Not surprisingly, Fury isn’t mentioning wanting to get a fight against David Haye after the two bad experiences he had in trying to line up a fight against him.

Chisora: Fury’s getting knocked out in the 1st round

chisora434By Scott Gilfoid: In a battle of British heavyweights in the WBO eliminator bout, #2 WBO, #3 WBA, #3 IBF, #8 WBC, Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) is predicting a really early knockout of #5 WBO, #8 IBF, #12 WBC, #14 WBA, Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) in their domestic clash on July 26th at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, UK.

Chisora thinks he’s going to KO Fury in the 1st round, while Fury is predicting a 5th round TKO. The more likely result will be a dull 12 round decision like the last time the two fighters met up back in 2011 when Fury totally schooled Chisora in beating him by a 12 round decision. Chisora was too short to land his looping shots, and without them landing, he was pretty much a cooked goose in the fight.

Tyson Fury to give Chisora his British and European belts after he beats him on 7/26

fury52By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight Tyson Fury plans on giving Dereck Chisora his British and European heavyweight title straps after he beats him in their rematch on July 26th in Manchester. Fury, 6’9”, already easily beat Chisora by a 12 round unanimous decision three years ago, but the promoters for the two fighters decided to stage a rematch anyway because Chisora has a small winning streak of 5 fights, albeit against weak opposition. The vacant British heavyweight title will be on the line for the Chisora-Fury fight, and Chisora’s European heavyweight title will also be up for grabs.

Fury feels that he won’t need the British and European straps after he beats Chisora, because he’ll be getting a world title shot against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko after that, and Fury thinks he can beat Wladimir.

Hughie Fury defeats Danny Hughes, but looks poor

fury6777By Scott Gilfoid: In what could be the worst outing of his career, heavyweight prospect Hughie Fury (14-0, 8 KO’s) had to struggle to defeat Danny Hughes (12-3-2, 3 KO’s) by an 8 round points decision on Saturday night at the Ponds Forge Arena, in Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The referee scored it 79-74. After the fight the 19-year-old Hughie said “He was awkward.”

Surprisingly, Hughes was the bigger puncher of the two, which you think would be hard to believe considering that he came into the fight with just a measly 3 knockouts on his resume. It was pretty clear after the 1st round that Hughes had more power than Fury. As the fight progressed, Hughes was able to catch Fury with an occasional big shot while he was on his way in.

Fury and Chisora jaw at each other in mild face to face meeting

fury4By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweights Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora trash talked each other earlier today in a meeting at the Printworks in Manchester, UK to help drum up interest for their rematch on July 26h at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, UK. The rematch is hardly needed due to Fury having totally dominated Chisora in his 12 round decision victory in 2011, but it’s a rematch that will make them both a lot of money because there’s interest in the UK in a second fight.

The winner of the affair will be in line to fight IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at some point in the future.

Tyson Fury says he’d wear Wladimir out

wladimir44By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury saw IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (62-3, 52 KO’s) destroy challenger Alex Leapai (30-5-3, 24 KO’s) in 5 rounds tonight at the Koenig Pilsener Arena, Oberhausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, and Fury says he was bored in watching the fight. Fury feels that he would have knocked Leapai out much faster than Wladimir did by throwing uppercuts rather than throwing just jabs the way that Wladimir did tonight. Fury also thinks he would set a really fast pace, if given a chance to fight the 6’6″ Wladimir, and he’d wear Wladimir out.

“Why not have a real fight, and why not fight Tyson Fury,” Fury said to Euro Sport. “Let’s get it on. I want you. Have a fight with a real man. I’ll set a fast pace. Wladimir does the same thing every fight – jab, jab, jab. I would have got that guy out much quicker with an uppercut. I would have made Wladimir fight at a much faster pace than he’s used to. There’s never been anyone like me and there probably never will be. 10 Wladimir’s wouldn’t put the fear in me.”

Chisora: Fury will fold if I release the anger on him

chisora34By Scott Gilfoid: Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) says he’ll be okay and not explode on Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) during the build up to their July 26th rematch as long as Fury doesn’t put hands on him. However, if he touches him in any way, he might show his bad side and “release the anger” on the 6’9” Fury.

What Chisora means by releasing the anger is hard to understand? It could mean that he’ll slap him, or maybe he’ll spit water in his face or possibly even kiss him. Chisora has done all of these things in the past two fighters, so it’s hard to know exactly how he’ll react when he releases his anger.

Chisora: Fury will be running from me and I’ll hunt him down

chisora5645By Scott Gilfoid: #2 WBO, #5 IBF, #8 WBC, #13 WBA, Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) expects to see Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) running from him instead of standing and fighting in their fight on July 26th, and Chisora says he’s going to cut off the ring on Fury to force him to exchange punches. It seems that Chisora’s confidence has sky rocketed after beating 5 mostly Euro level heavyweights since his knockout loss to David Haye, and he now fancies himself as a knockout puncher rather than just a short hard-worker with medium power, and not much of any outside game to speak of.

“He [Fury] won’t be able to stand the heat that I’m bringing to him so he’ll definitely be leaving my kitchen the ring, once I start turning up the heat. Fury is like a rabbit, he’ll be running, but I’ll hunt him down and eventually catch up with him and then it’s game over.”

Peter Fury gushes about how Tyson F has improved

fury66By Scott Gilfoid: While many boxing fans think heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) looks to be going downhill recently in almost getting knocked out by small heavyweight Steve Cunningham and thought he looked fat and slow in his recent win over C level fighter Joey Abell, Fury’s trainer Peter Fury thinks he’s looking great.

Peter sees Tyson as having improved from his previous fight against Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) from three years ago, and he believes that he’s ready to be taken off the leash right now to tear Chisora apart in their rematch.

Fury brags about being 2 fights away from Klitschko title shot

fury5667By Scott Gilfoid: #5 WBO Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) estimates he’s only 2 fights away from a world title shot against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko next year. Fury has a sparring session against 33-year-old Carlos Takam (29-1-1, 23 KO’s) scheduled in the middle of April, and a fight against an old victim Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) scheduled on July 26th at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, UK.

The World Boxing Organization for some reason are letting the Chisora-Fury 2 fight be a WBO heavyweight eliminator bout despite the fact that both #3 WBO Andy Ruiz and #4 Deontay Wilder are both ranked ahead of the 6’9” Fury.
