Roach: Bradley will never be Mayweather

roach5By Chris Williams: Trainer Freddie Roach doesn’t see any improvement in the game of former two division world champion Tim Bradley. Roach sees the same old Bradley, and believes he’s going to revert to his old self when the punches start flying in his fight with Manny Pacquiao next month on April 9.

Roach has heard the talk of Bradley being an improved fighter now that he’s with trainer Teddy Atlas. Roach doesn’t believe it. He doesn’t think Bradley is capable of beating Pacquiao, and he further doesn’t see him as another Floyd Mayweather Jr., who recently beat Pacquiao by a 12 round decision last May.

There’s a lot of talk about how Bradley has a real chance of beating the 37-year-old Pacquiao and sending him into retirement with a big fat loss. Bradley, 32, seems to have aged less than Pacquiao since their last fight in 2014, and it may not matter that he’s not another Mayweather.

Arum expects Pacquiao-Bradley to be a war

arum5By Jeff Aranow: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum expects a real war between his two fighters Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley in their fight in less than a month from now on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is the third time these guys have faced each other, and Pacquiao has been seen as the winner in both of those fights. Bradley won the first, but it was a questionable win. In the rematch two years later in 2014, Pacquiao got the better of Bradley in beating him by a 12 round decision.

Arum believes that Bradley has improved since his loss in 2014. Arum seems prove in Bradley’s improvement with his 9th round knockout win over Brandon Rios in his last fight in November last year.

Vargas sees Pacquiao-Bradley as even fight

bradley5456By Chris Williams: Newly crowned WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas is giving Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) a great chance of beating the aging 37-year-old Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) in their third together on April 9 on HBO PPV.

Vargas, 26, believes that Pacquiao is aging and not the fighter he was eight years ago when he stopped Oscar De La Hoya in the 8th round. Vargas doesn’t think Pacquiao is the same fighter that defeated a past his best Antonio Margarito in 2010 in Texas. Vargas thinks Pacquiao has lost some of the energy that he once had that made him a good fighter.

Vargas figures that if Pacquiao couldn’t knockout Bradley in their first two fights, when he was a little younger than he is now, then he surely won’t be able to score a knockout of Bradley on April 9.

“It’s a 50-50 fight,” Vargas said to Rappler.com. “If Bradley ever had a chance, it’s right now. Manny Pacquiao’s on the decline and he doesn’t have the kind of strength he once possessed. I don’t think he’s the same fighter he was when he fought Oscar [De La Hoya], when he fought [Antonio] Margarito. I don’t think he has the same strength that he was dangerous for in the past.”

Pacquiao-Bradley: Look for Tim to finish Manny off

YouTube video

By Chris Williams: At this point in Manny Pacquiao’s career, he’s the equivalent of an old lion on his last legs ready to be knocked off the bill by a younger lion with a full set of teeth and claws.

We saw Pacquiao get dominated by Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year, and we also witnessed Pacquiao get knocked clean out by Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012. Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) is now about to fight former two division world champion Tim Bradley, who is like a shark who smells blood in the water and it ready to finish off his prey.

Will Pacquiao continue his boxing career if he loses election?

1-MAYPAC-FIGHTNIGHT-TRAPPFOTOS-5568By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao is saying that his next fight on April 9 against Tim Bradley will be his last fight of his career. Pacquiao is retiring specifically so that he can go into politics in the Philippines.

Up until recently, it looked like Pacquiao was in a good position to win a senate seat in the May elections in his country. However, with Pacquiao’s recent comments about gays, his chances of winning the senate seat is now unclear.

Atlas says Bradley can’t let Pacquiao dictate pace of fight

YouTube video

By Chris Williams: Trainer Teddy Atlas wants his fighter Tim Bradley to make sure that he doesn’t let Manny Pacquiao dictate the pace of the fight and nail him with left hands in their fight on April 9 next month.

Pacquiao and Bradley will be fighting for the third time on HBO PPV, and Atlas, who is Bradley’s new trainer, feels that his fighter will beat Pacquiao in this match if he fights a smart fight. Bradley lost the last fight against Pacquiao in 2014, and many boxing fans feel that Bradley deserved to lose the first fight in 2012.

Brook wants Danny Garcia, Pacquiao or Bradley in 2016

brook7777By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) just can’t seem to get a break. He’s been pining away for a fight against Amir Khan for the past three years, but he’s been ignored by him. In the meantime, Brook hasn’t been fighting talented enough guys to raise his profile.

You can’t blame that on Brook or you can blame it on his promoter Eddie Hearn, who has been matching hi softly ever since he took over as his promoter five years ago. Brook will be defending his IBF title against his mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier (25-2, 17 KOs) this month on March 26 at the Sheffield Arena, in Sheffield, UK.

Brook would like to have his next fight already lined up by the time he enters the ring on 3/26, and he has got three fighters in mind that he is interested in facing. Brook would like to fight WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia, Manny Pacquiao or Tim Bradley.

Pacquiao made a mistake in choosing Bradley

pac3333By Chris Williams: With each passing day, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that Filipino star Manny Pacquiao and his 84-year-old promoter Bob Arum made a major blunder in selecting Tim Bradley for his next fight on April 9 on HBO PPV. Despite the comments Arum made recently about there being a great deal of interest in the Pacquiao-Bradley 3 fight, I don’t see the interest being there in this fight in the internet.

It wouldn’t be a big deal normally if the Pacquiao-Bradley 3 fight was a fail, because Arum already had Pacquiao in two poor fights against Chris Algieri and Brandon Rios that failed to bring in a lot of PPV buys.

However, with Pacquiao running for a seat in the senate in the Philippines in May, it was very important that Pacquiao to take some risks in his next fight by facing someone that he hadn’t fought before and someone that had an actual good chance of beating him.
