Bradley: Pacquiao is only fighting for money now

bradley44By Chris Williams: One of the stated reasons for why Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) agreed to fight Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) on April 9 in their third fight together was because of the more pay-per-view buys that Bradley could bring in on HBO PPV compared to the other contestants.

Bradley thinks that Pacquiao is fighting for the wrong reasons at this point in his career. He sees Pacquiao only looking to fight for money than for the love of the sport. Pacquiao will be making his usual $20 million guaranteed along with the pay-per-view upside.

Right now, it’s looking there’s not going to be a lot of pay-per-view buys for this fight due to the lack of interest from the boxing fans. However, you never know. The fight fans might come out of the woodwork on fight night on April 9 and pay to see the two fighters.

Hearn wants Bradley for Brook after Bizier fight

hearn53By Scott Gilfoid: Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn wants Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) for his fighter IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) after his upcoming fight against his over-matched mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier (25-2, 17 KOs) this Saturday night on March 26 at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, UK.

Unfortunately for Brook and Hearn, Bradley, 32, has a fight on April 9 against Manny Pacquiao on HBO PPV. Bradley is expected to lose that fight, and he could even be knocked out. Hearn doesn’t care. He STILL wants Bradley for Brook in the summer, even if Bradley gets whipped by Pacquiao first. Hearn doesn’t care.

Hearn thinks the British boxing public will still want to see Brook fight Bradley regardless of what happens in Bradley’s fight against Pacquiao.

Pacquiao explains why he no longer KOs his opponents

pac3366By Chris Williams: Former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) finally has opened his mouth to speak about why he’s not knocked anyone out in the past seven years. Pacquiao says he’s not a natural 147lb fighter. He’s a 140 pounder fighting in the wrong division.

Pacquiao says he could fight in the 135lb division if he wanted to right now. Why he would want to fight in a division like that would be the big question. The lightweight division is barren of stars, and it would be a crazy move on Pacquiao’s part if he were to move down to that division in hopes of scoring knockouts.

Bradley has game plan to beat Pacquiao

bradley2222222By Chris Williams: Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) says he has a game plan that he feels will lead him to victory over the Filipino star Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) in their fight in less than one month from now on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game plan that Bradley and his new trainer Teddy Atlas have put together should lead them to victory over Pacquiao in this fight on HBO PPV.

The defeat will send Pacquiao into retirement with a loss, and could hurt his chances of being elected into the senate in the Philippines. Bradley obviously doesn’t care about that. He just wants to show Pacquiao and the boxing world that he’s the superior fighter and that he was always superior to Pacquiao.

Thurman talks Pacquiao-Bradley 3 fight

thurman32 - CopyBy Chris Williams: WBA welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman believes that the main reason why boxing fans are interested in paying to see the third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley on April 9 is because the fans want to see how Bradley’s new trainer Teddy Atlas will have an impact on Bradley’s fighting style in this fight.

If not for Atlas, there would be no real reason for boxing fans to see the third fight between them because Pacquiao already proved that he’s the better fighter than Bradley in their first two fights.

Pacquiao was arguably robbed in the first fight, and then he avenged that loss with a clear 12 round decision win over Bradley in their second fight in 2014. So Thurman thinks that there’s no other real reason for fans to see the third Pacquiao-Bradley fight other than to see how Atlas improves Bradley’s fighting style if at all.

Bradley expecting best from Pacquiao

bradley5456By Jeff Aranow: There’s talk that Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) may not be fully motivated for his fight against Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) on April 9. Pacquiao is about to retire after the fight, and he doesn’t have any real reason to continue on in the sport after making a bundle of money in his last fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2015.

Pacquiao has been talking about wanting to score a knockout in this fight, but the talk is that he’s just going through the motions and not training with the motivation that he’s done in the past. Bradley, 32, is expecting nothing but the best from Paquiao.

He doesn’t see him as having any motivation issues, and he thinks his surgically repaired right shoulder will be at full strength when the two of them start throwing punches at each other.

This is a rare fight between Pacquiao and Bradley where there won’t be a world title stake or one of the trinket made up belts from one of the sanctioning bodies. In both of their previous two fights together, the WBO 147lb title was being defended.

Roach: Pacquiao’s surgically repaired right shoulder is stronger than his left

Freddie RoachBy Chris Williams: Trainer Freddie Roach is very impressed with the power that Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) is able to get on his right hand shots from his surgically repaired right shoulder. Roach says he’s not sure what his surgeon did to Pacquiao’s shoulder, but he’s throwing with a lot of power.

In fact, Roach thinks Pacquiao is throwing shots with his surgically repaired shoulder harder than with his left. Pacquiao suffered a torn right rotator cuff last May in his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao had surgery days after the fight to repair his injured shoulder, and he’s been out of action ever since.

Bradley: Pacquiao does the same thing

pac3333By Chris Williams: Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) isn’t expecting anything new from Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) when the two of them meet up next month in their scheduled fight on April 9 on HBO pay-per-view. Bradley sees Pacquiao as someone who fights with the same style every time out, and there’s nothing unpredictable about him.

Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach always talks about how he’s coming up with a game plan for different fighters that Pacquiao faces, but it’s always the same style that the fans see from Pacquiao. Bradley isn’t worried about Pacquiao coming out and showing a new wrinkle in their fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. He doesn’t think Pacquiao as someone capable of changing at this point in his career.

Roach hoping Pacquiao KOs Bradley

roach45By Chris Williams: Trainer Freddie Roach is hoping Manny Pacquiao can end his seven-year dry spell of knockouts by stopping Tim Bradley in their fight next month on April 9. Roach, 56, is trying to entice Pacquiao to get a knockout in this fight by telling him how it’ll help his political career in the Philippines.

Pacquiao is trying to win a senate seat in the May elections, and Roach thinks that if he knocks Bradley out, it’ll help get Pacquiao elected somehow. I’m not sure if that’s going to be the case. It’s likely the voters will be focusing on selecting someone they feel will do a good job for them in office rather than someone that scores a knockout against Bradley.

Bradley: I don’t care if this is Pacquiao’s last fight

bradley5456By Chris Williams: After having faced former eight division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) two times previously and made his fortune from those two fights, Tim “Desert Storm” Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) says he doesn’t care that Pacquiao is on the verge of retiring after their third fight on April 9.

Bradley is only focused on winning that fight and moving on to the next hurdle in his successful career.

Bradley and Pacquiao knotted at 1-1 in their rivalry, and the two of them will be looking to find out who the superior fighter is between them in their rubber match on HBO pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“’I don’t know and honestly I don’t really care,” Bradley said when asked if he thinks Pacquiao will be retiring after their fight next month.

There is speculation that the 37-year-old Pacquiao could choose to continue his boxing career if he loses the election in the Philippines in May. Pacquiao is running for a senate seat, and his poll numbers are reportedly down since his recent comments about gays. Pacquiao has said previously that he wouldn’t have enough time to continue his boxing career if he gets elected into the senate. If he loses the election, then the excuse about not having time to focus on the sport will be out the window.
