Mora-Mosley: Sergio could send Shane into retirement this Saturday night

Image: Mora-Mosley: Sergio could send Shane into retirement this Saturday nightBy Jason Kim: Former three division world champion Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) looked nothing less than horrible in his last fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May. Mosley, 39, lost that bout by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision and showed absolutely nothing after hurting Mayweather with a big right hand in the 2nd round. Instead of jumping all over Mayweather and trying to finish him off, Mosley quickly ran out of gas and was unable to finish Mayweather.

Mosley vs. Mora: Shane says there are still big fights out there for him

Image: Mosley vs. Mora: Shane says there are still big fights out there for himBy Dan Ambrose: 39-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6, 30 KO’s) will be fighting Sergio Mora (22-1-1, 6 KO’s) on Saturday night at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California. Mosley lost his last fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 1st in a one-sided beating to the faster and younger Mayweather.

Mosley, however, is blaming the loss on some neck pain that he was suffering previous to the bout. Whatever the case, Mosley won’t have any more excuses that boxing fans will buy if he gets beaten by Mora on Saturday night. Mosley may have to face up to the sad reality that he’s a fighter that has seen his best day and who no longer can beat the top guys in the division.

Will Mora put Mosley out of his misery this Saturday?

Image: Will Mora put Mosley out of his misery this Saturday?By Dan Ambrose: Coming off what is clearly his worst performance of his 17-year pro career, 39-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) will be facing former World Boxing Council (WBC) junior middleweight champion Sergio “Latin Snake” Mora (22-1-6 KO’s) in a 12 round non-title bout on Saturday night at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles. The bout will be going for a cool $49.95 on pay per view, but if you compare it to the $55 you’d have to pay to see the mismatch fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito, the Mora-Mosley fight seems like the much better deal for you money.

Mosley-Mora: Shane thinks he can fight until he’s 46

Image: Mosley-Mora: Shane thinks he can fight until he’s 46By Jason Kim: Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) thinks he can fight another seven more years. He just turned 39 on September 7th, and judging by how horrible he looked in his last fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last May, I think Mosley will be pushing it if he fights beyond this year. Mosley will be moving up in weight on September 18th to fight former World Boxing Council junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora (22-1-1, 6 KO’s) at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California.

Image: Mosley turned 39 today - Is he going to get beaten by Mora on 9/18?By Dan Ambrose: Former three division champion Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) turned a ripe 39-years-old on Tuesday. That wouldn’t be such a big deal if Mosley hadn’t lost his last fight so badly to Floyd Mayweather Jr., losing almost every round of the fight in May. Mosley looked old and tired in that fight the way a person is supposed to look at his age. And now Mosley is taking on the light hitting Sergio Mora (22-1-1, 6 KO’s) on September 18th in a fight that has a loaded undercard at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California.

Mosley-Mora: Shane has to get to Sergio early

Image: Mosley-Mora: Shane has to get to Sergio earlyBy Jason Kim: If 39-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) to have any chance in his September 18th fight against former WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora (22-1-1, 6 KO’s), he’s going to have to try do it early before he runs out of gas because Mora is a fighter that can move and jab all night long without tiring.

Mosley vs. Mora: Will Sergio finish Shane off and send him into retirement?

Image: Mosley vs. Mora: Will Sergio finish Shane off and send him into retirement?By Matt Stein: On September 18th, 38-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) will be making his first appearance since losing a one-sided 12 round unanimous decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 1st of this year when he takes on former WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora (22-1, 6 KO’s) at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California. Mosley, who turns 39 on September 7th, looked good for all of two rounds against Mayweather before fading badly and doing almost nothing for the remaining nine rounds of the fight. It looked like Mosley was just tired from having expended a lot of energy in trying to take Mayweather out in the 2nd.

Mosley vs. Mora on 9/18: Does anyone care about this fight?

Image: Mosley vs. Mora on 9/18: Does anyone care about this fight?By Dan Ambrose: Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO’s) may not have been thinking straight when he chose former World Boxing Council junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora (22-1, 6 KO’s) to fight on September 18th, instead of someone from his own weight class who is more likely to stand in front of him and give him a traditional fight. Mosley will be turning 39 next month on September 7th, and looked dreadful in his last fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., losing by a one-sided 12 round unanimous decision by the scores of 119-109, 118-110 and 119-109 on May 1st. Fans of Mosley point out that Mayweather often makes his opponents look bad, but Mosley didn’t just look bad, he looked old and tired. He looked like a textbook version of a shot fighter.
