Berto, 32, was recently beaten by WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision on September 12th.

Mayweather will beat Berto by a lopsided decision, says Guerrero

berto233By Allan Fox: Former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero believes that Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) will be too good for former IBF/WBC 147lb champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) in their fight this Saturday night on Showtime pay-per-view on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guerrero, who easily beat Berto by a 12 round decision in 2012, thinks Mayweather will beat the 31-year-old Berto by a lopsided decision. Guerrero doesn’t think it’s going to be an easy fight, but he definitely sees Mayweather winning by a one-sided decision.

guerrero55By Dan Ambrose: A fight between former WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) and former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs) is in the works for the fall, according to Fighthype.com.

For the 27-year-old Garcia, it’s a slight step up from his last fight against Paulie Malignaggi earlier this month. Garcia totally dominated the light hitting Malignaggi in stopping him in the 9th round of a one-sided contest.

Robert Guerrero: I should have boxed Aaron Martinez from the beginning

guerrero55By Dan Ambrose: #10 WBA 147 pound contender Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs) only now fully realizes that he should have elected to box his opponent Aaron Martinez (19-4-1, 4 KOs) last Saturday rather than exchanging with him in their fight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The 32-year-old Guerrero chose to stand and trade with Martinez, who isn’t known for being a big puncher, and it almost cost Guerrero the fight. He was knocked down in the 4th round, and he barely won the fight by a 10 round split decision by the scores of 97-92, 95-94 for Guerrero, and 95-94 for Martinez.

Robert Guerrero: Now it’s time to move on to the big fights

guerrero4444444(Photo Credit: Suzanne Teresa/Premier Boxing Champions) By Allan Fox: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs) barely made it through his fight today in beating Aaron Martinez (19-4-1, 4 KOs) by a questionable 10 round split decision to keep his once promising career afloat at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Guerrero, 32, says he now wants the big fights after this narrow and controversial victory. Many boxing fans thought that Guerrero should have lost the fight. That’s why it’s so comical for Guerrero to be talking in terms of him deserving a big money fight because he was given a gift decision. Martinez knocked Guerrero down in the 4th round.

Guerrero defeats Martinez; Cuellar stops Darchinyan

guerrero6788(Photo Credit: Suzanne Teresa/Premier Boxing Champions) By Dan Ambrose: In one of former two division world champion Robert Guerrero’s worst performances of his career, he had to get up off the deck in the 4th round to come back and defeat 2nd tier fighter Aaron Martinez (19-4-1, 4 KOs) by a narrow 10 round split decision on Saturday afternoon on NBC on Premier Boxing Champions at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The final judges’ scores were 97-92 and 95-94 for Guerrero, and 95-94 for Martinez. The 97-92 score made no sense at all because you can make an argument that Guerrero really should have lost the fight. I had Martinez winning 5 rounds, and with the knockdown in the 4th, he should have won the fight.

Robert Guerrero faces Aaron Martinez today on NBC on Premier Boxing Champions

YouTube video

By Dan Ambrose: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-3-1, 18 KOs) will be back inside the ring this afternoon in a 10 round bout against Aaron Martinez (19-3-1, 4 KOs) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The Guerrero-Martinez fight will be televised on NBC on Premier Boxing Champions at 3:00 PM ET/ 12:00 PM PT.

It’s a high visibility fight for the 32-year-old Guerrero given that the fight will be televised on NBC, and that’s why it’s important for him to dispatch Martinez quickly without letting drag out like Guerrero did with his fight against fringe contender Yoshihiro Kamegai last year in June. Guerrero had what should have been an easy fight for him, but instead he elected to get in the trenches with the Japanese fighter and beat him at his own game.
