How Can Hatton Beat Pacquiao?

hatton5555557By Chris Williams: Now that the purse split scare is pretty much over between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao with Manny agreeing to the 50-50 split, one wonders whether Hatton fully realizes what he’s about to do. I’m sure he’s probably has an idea of how he wants to fight Pacquiao already, as well as his trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. However, the best laid plans are often foiled and when it comes to a fighter as skilled as Pacquiao, he’s someone that is very tough to beat even under the best circumstances.

According to the LA Times, the contract should be signed by tomorrow for the fight. “Everybody is now calmed down,” promoter Bob Arum said.

If The Pacquiao Fight Doesn’t Work Out, Should Hatton fight Judah or Marquez?

judah464635332By Jim Dower: With Manny Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KOs) facing a deadline of Wednesday to change his mind and take the original 50-50 purse split which had been previously verbally agreed upon by both fighters, Ricky Hatton (45-1. 32 KOs) may be facing the unhappy situation of having to choose another fighter for his scheduled May 2nd fight date. According to news reports around the boxing world, Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, will be pulling the plug on the fight and not letting it go forward unless Pacquiao takes the original 50-50 purse split deal.

What’s Hatton Crying About? Take The 40% Cut And Shut Up

hatton443345By Michael Lieberman: I have no idea what’s going on with Ricky Hatton’s brain but he needs to wise up quickly, realize his worth and take the 40% purse offered to him by Manny Pacquiao. As far as I can tell, that’s a great offer from Pacquiao and Hatton should consider himself lucky to get such a high amount from Manny. I agree with Scott Gilfoid, I don’t think Hatton has done enough in the ring to deserve equal pay with a fighter as good as Pacquiao.

Hatton Needs To Accept The 60-40 Deal

hatton443334By Scott Gilfoid: I don’t see what the problem is for Ricky Hatton. Manny Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KOs) is offering him an excellent deal of a 60-40 split and here Hatton wants to screw things up by asking for a 50-50 split. Hatton needs to take the offer and be happy that he’s getting it. In boxing, the better fighter generally always gets the bigger purse, that’s just the way things are done.

De La Hoya – What’s The Real Reason Oscar Lost To Pacquiao?

dela454644By Jason Kim: Since losing to Manny Pacquiao in a brutal eight-round beat down on December 6th, there have been various explanations as to the main reason that Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs) lost in such a terribly manner. The excuses have ranged from De La Hoya’s diet, which was more or less a starvation-based weight loss diet according to some, to Oscar not being comfortable with Pacquiao’s southpaw stance.

Pacquiao Wants a Bout With Either Margarito Or Mayweather

margarito2345122By Eric Thomas: In an article from Ron Borges at Thesweetscience site, Freddie Roach, the trainer for WBC lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KOs), said that Manny wants a bout with Margarito, whom he thinks he can outbox. Roach further said that Pacquiao won’t ever be defending his WBC lightweight title and that if Juan Manuel Marquez wants a fight with Manny, he’s going to need to gain some weight and move up to the light welterweight division (140 lbs) and meet Manny there because that’s the weight class that Pacquiao will be moving to next.

Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao: Critical Analysis

hatton45554By Adam Laiolo: It’s a shame that this great spectacle is near 5 months away, not for the fact of not seeing it earlier but because we have to be subjected to the obligatory predictions from anyone to everyone. Ranging from the biased to the plain obscure. But let’s get this right, we are fans of a sport where anything can happen. That why when these two greats step into the ring, it’s going to be unpredictable to the end. Trainers Floyd Mayweather Sr and Freddie Roach have both added fuel to the fire by both predicting their version of events. Roach claiming Pacquiao has the better hand speed and footwork, Mayweather the sheer power and ferocity of Hatton. Whilst these are both true statements, it’s the flaws in each fighter where this fight will be decided.

Mayweather Sr. Believes That Hatton Can Stop Pacquiao

hatton3243352By Chris Williams: For what it’s worth, Ricky Hatton’s trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr., feels that Ricky can knock Manny Pacquiao out on May 2nd. Mayweather Sr. had this to say to The Sun: “I believe Ricky can stop Pacquiao.” However, if Hatton is going to be doing this, he’s going to have to look a heck of a lot better than he did in his last three bouts against Mayweather Jr., Juan Lazcano and Paulie Malignaggi.
