Predictions: Pacquiao vs. Margarito & Haye vs. Harrison
By By Michael Brady: This Saturday a battle for the heavyweight championship of the world will take place, coined by some as the London Championships, an event now laughable when compared to what could have been, and for now has passed.
Others wait; stewing impatiently in anticipation of what could be, no matter how incongruous and foolish it may initially seem.
I smell fear – Is Roach afraid Pacquiao is about to get destroyed by Margarito?
By Dave Lahr: If you’ve been paying any attention to the constant yapping by trainer Freddie Roach, you’ll notice that Roach is talking a lot more now than he ever has before one of Manny Pacquiao’s fights and he’s got a lot more animated tone than he’s had in the past. In my estimation, Roach is showing the hallmark signs of being afraid.
Arum concerned that Pacquiao could lose to Margarito
By Jason Kim: The last thing that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum wants is for his top fighter Manny Pacquiao to get beaten by one of his stable fighters Antonio Margarito this Saturday night when they meet up at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. Margarito was one of the top welterweights in the division two years ago, but has lost a lot of his luster since then with a knockout loss to 38-year-old Shane Mosley last year, and then a mediocre performance against fringe junior middleweight contender Roberto Garcia in May of this year.
Will Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight do well on PPV?
By Keith Darren: Manny Pacquiao’s PPV buys is one of the highest (Floyd has the record) and in his incoming fight against Margarito on November 13, naysayers are predicting low PPVs because many say it is not the fight they wanted. Of course people are longing to see Manny fight Floyd and determine who is the real pound for pound king. But since two attempts to put Pac and Floyd together in a match did not materialized, Bob Arum gave Margarito a chance to redeem himself and have him as Pacquiao’s next opponent.
Will Pacquiao fight any harder because Margarito hurt Roach’s feelings?
By Dave Lahr: I hate to break this to all the Manny Pacquiao fans but it doesn’t matter a bit that Antonio Margarito kicked some dirt on his loving trainer Freddie Roach recently by mocking the way he moves. Pacquiao won’t be able to fight any harder than he already is and if he goes over board just to try and get revenge for Roach, he’s just going to get knocked out that much quicker by Margarito. You see Pacquiao is just too small to hang with a warrior like 5’11” Margarito, and even with Pacquiao’s handicapping 150 pound catch-weight to help him try and be competitive, he’s still just too small for Pacquiao and is going to get his backside handed to him this Saturday night at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington.
Robert Garcia says Margarito and Rios didn’t know Roach has Parkinson’s disease – News
By Chris Williams: Kevin Iole, Yahoo writer, reports on his Twitter page that Antonio Margarito’s trainer Robert Garcia says that Margarito and Brandon Rios didn’t know that Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has Parkinson’s disease. Rios and Margarito were seen making fun of Roach recently in a video at Fanhouse, with both of them seemingly mocking Roach’s condition. Roach got pissed about it and has been complaining bitterly about it, seeing it as a low blow.
The underdog that won, Margarito?
By Gerardo Granados: Not only in movies such things can happened, in real life this had happened more than once; boxing history has proven that if a trained fighter steps in to a ring he has a chance to win. Some times the champion gets over confident, distracted or simply gets tired of the diary boxing training routine, other times the underdog connects that clean hard shot that finish it all. In this case, Congressman Manny Pacquiao might have different interest in his mind other than boxing; after all he has accomplished boxing records that will be hard to match. On the other hand the underdog Antonio Margarito is so hungry for glory that cant be more focused on his only goal, to become the champion.
Roach says he thinks Margarito is still trying to make weight for Pacquiao bout on Saturday
By Chris Williams: Many Pacquiao’s Trainer Freddie Roach says he thinks Antonio Margarito is having problems taking weight off for Saturday’s fight at the Cowboy Stadium. Well, there it is. The old catch-weight handicap is doing a job on Margarito, if what Roach says is true. If this fight were held at 154, Margarito would have no problem making the weight, but they wanted it at 150 in another catch-weight fight for Pacquiao.
