Brook to fight N’dou on June 25th

Image: Brook to fight N'dou on June 25thBy Scott Gilfoid: Instead of finally taking on a top contender in the welterweight division, number #2 ranked World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight contender Kell Brook (23-0, 16 KO’s) has decided to go soft by facing 39-year-old Lovemore N’dou (48-12-2, 31 KO’s) on June 25th. This is a fight that Brook should have taken a couple of years ago instead of at this advanced point in his career.

Saul Alvarez decisions 39-year-old Lovemore N’dou, but looks horrible

Image: Saul Alvarez decisions 39-year-old Lovemore N'dou, but looks horribleBy Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) failed to impress last night with a 12 round unanimous decision win over 39-year-old Lovemore N’dou (48-12-2, 31 KO’s) at the Estadio Beto Avila, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. Alvarez, 20, clearly won the fight but he took a lot of head shots in the fight and looked a lot like a plodder as he came forward. In looking at how easily N’dou was able to land hard flush shots throughout the fight, it has me wondered whether Alvarez is already showing early signs of deterioration form this fight and his earlier fights while coming up.

Saul Alvarez vs. Lovemore N’dou tonight

Image: Saul Alvarez vs. Lovemore N'dou tonightBy Eric Thomas: Undefeated WBC Silver junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (34-0-1, 26 KO’s) defends his title against what his management hopes to be an easy fight against 39-year-old Lovemoe N’dou (48-11-2, 31 KO’s) tonight at the Estadio Beto Avila, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. Alvarez has little experience against quality fighters during his five-year pro career but it’s hard to say this is a step up for Alvarez because N’dou is a welterweight, not a junior middleweight, and he’s pushing 40.

Saul Alvarez vs. 39-year-old Lovemore N’dou on HBO this Saturday

By Dan Ambrose: 20-year-old WBC Silver light middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (34-0-1, 26 KO’s) defends his World Boxing Council title this Saturday night against 39-year-old welterweight Lovemore N’dou (48-11-2, 31 KO’s) on HBO Latino at the Estadio Beto Avila, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. For Alvarez, this is his second consecutive fight against a 39-year-old fighter. Some of Alvarez’s fans see him being matched up against 39-year-old fighters back to back and small lightweights like Jose Miguel Cotto as brilliant match-making. I’m not one of those people.

Saul Alvarez vs. Lovemore N’dou this Saturday

By Dan Ambrose: In what will likely be an ugly mismatch, unbeaten WBC Silver light middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (34-0-1, 26 KO’s) makes his second defense of his obscure title against 39-year-old Lovemore N’dou (48-11-2, 31 KO’s) in a 12 round bout at the Estadio Beto Avila, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. Alvarez may or may not pan out in the future. He’s got good power but rotten defensive skills and what appears to be a hand eye problem when it comes to picking off punches.

Alvarez vs. N’dou: Saul matched up against another older fighter

By Jason Kim: World Boxing Council Silver light middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (34-0-1, 26 KO’s) will be matched up against another older fighter when he takes on 39-year-old Lovemore N’dou (48-11-2, 31 KO’s) on December 4th at the Estadio Beto Avila, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. Alvarez, 20, defeated 39-year-old Carlos Baldomir last September in Alvarez’s first defense of his newly created WBC Silver junior middleweight title. It was hoped that Alvarez would take on a fighter a little younger than 39 for his next fight, but it looks like another 39-year-old has been dug up for Alvarez to look good against.

Saul Alvarez vs. Lovemore N’dou on December 4th

By Chris Williams: Well, it looks like Golden Boy Promotions is going to be matching unbeaten welterweight contender Saul Alvarez (34-0-1, 26 KO’s) up with another 39-year-old fighter. In this case, it will be former International Boxing Federation light welterweight champion Lovemore N’dou (48-11-2, 31 KO’s), who is clearly on the downside of his career and perhaps six or seven years past his best. The fight will be taking place at Xcaret, Quintana Roo, Mexico, and will be scheduled for 12 rounds.

Hatton-N’Dou Review

hatton-matthew44By Shaun Campbell: Friday night Fenton Manor, Stoke, “Magic” Matthew Hatton was able to hold Lovemore N’Dou to a draw, but that was not enough to earn him the International Boxing Organization Belt. Two judges scored the bou 114-115 (one to Hatton, one to N’Dou), and the American judge scored it 114-114 a draw. As the decision was read out the fans seemed baffled, and were not totally sure what to make of it.

Matthew Hatton furious after drawing with N’Dou – News

hatton-matthew3234By Liam Santiago: Matthew Hatton reacted angrily after being held to a draw against International Boxing Organization champion, Lovemore N’Dou. Hatton believed he did enough to win the fight although at times he was getting dominated. Lovemore N’Dou dominated in the early rounds and Hatton had no response. It was only in the latter rounds that Hatton came up with an answer and it was all too little too late.
