By William Mackay: British heavyweight David Haye (22-1, 21 KO’s) unleashed his dogs of war earlier today, calling World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev “Ugly.” Haye, 28, has a scheduled fight with the 36-year-old Valuev on November 7th, in Nuremberg, Germany, that is, if Haye doesn’t back out for one reason or another.
John McDermott
Fury Shouldn’t Waste time Giving McDermott a Rematch
By Scott Gilfoid: Alright, here’s the deal: I’ve seen the Tyson Fury vs. John McDermott fight and I think there’s no case for a rematch. All these McDermott fans are crying over spilled milk and I really wish they would shut their traps already and get over the fact that McDermott lost the fight. Deal with it, take the pain. Things like this happen in boxing. McDermott lost and that’s how it is. In my view, McDermott doesn’t deserve a rematch and if I’m Fury’s management I’d tell him to go fly a kite and forget about a rematch, that is, unless they want to shower Fury with cash to fight Big boy McDermott again.
I thought Fury Beat McDermott quite easily
By Scott Gilfoid: After watching Friday night’s clash between British heavyweights Tyson Fury (8-0, 7 KO’s) and Big John McDermott (25-6, 16 KO’s), I’m in full agreement with referee Terry O’Conner about Fury having won the fight. I had Fury winning eight rounds to two for McDermott. Referee O’Conner had Fury winning 98-92, the exact same as me.
Fury Defeats McDermott, Captures English heavyweight title
By Sean McDaniel: Heavyweight Tyson Fury (8-0, 7 KO’s) can sure talk the talk, but he failed to walk the walk against Big John McDermott (25-6, 16 KO’s) tonight, struggling to beat the fat journeyman by a questionable 10-round decision at the Brentwood Centre, in Brentwood. The fight was decided by referee Terry O’Conner, who gave it to the 21-year-old Fury by the score of 98-92.
Fury defeats McDermott on Questionable decision
By Nate Anderson: Unbeaten heavyweight Tyson Fury (8-0, 7 KO’s) put in a disappointing performance last night in defeating big John McDermott (25-6, 16 KO’s) by a 10-round decision to capture the English heavyweight title at the Brent Leisure Centre, in Essex. Referee/judge Terry O’Conner scored the bout 98-92, giving Fury the decision by six huge points. I couldn’t understand the score because it looked to me that McDermott had done enough to win the fight by one, maybe two rounds.
Fury wins controversial decision
By Steven Wain: Tyson Fury (8-0-7 KO’s) beat John McDermott (25-6-16 KO’s) today by a 10 round decision (98-92) for McDermott’s English heavyweight title. However, the fight was not one way traffic as the score card seems to show. Quite frankly, I had it the other way round to McDermott.
Fury defeats McDermott: The day British Boxing died…
By Gavin Bridges: Tonight, quite happy with myself for having two days extreme over-exertion in the house of a real freind, Mr. Glen Binns I so thank you, I returned home to settle myself down for the English Heayweight Title bout between the much-vaunted Tyson Fury, and John McMuffin, sorry, McDermott.
Fury vs. McDermott: Will Tyson put John Out of His Misery?

Fury, 21, is not short on self confidence as he’s already predicting a knockout win over McDermott on Friday, and looking past him towards a shot at Danny Williams.

To start with, Fury will be hoping to continue his knockout streak a little while longer, and then there’s the matter of the bragging rights of England.
