Thurman says he’ll fight Errol Spence if Mayweather offers him $10 million

spenceBy Dan Ambrose: In a sign of how little interest WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) has in fighting what many boxing fans see as the future of the 147lb division in undefeated Errol Spence Jr. (17-0, 14 KOs), Thurman said Floyd Mayweather Jr. should offer him $10 million to fight Spence Jr. on his undercard on September 12th. Mayweather already offered Thurman a spot on his undercard to fight Spence Jr. for one of his welterweight world titles.

Unfortunately for Mayweather and Spence, this doesn’t appear to be a good enough offer, because Thurman flat out turned it down, saying he wants the Mayweather fight. Thurman then said if Mayweather wants to offer him the Spence fight, then he needs to throw in $10 million to get him to consider it.

thurman333By Scott Gilfoid: After beating Luis Collazo (36-7, 19 KOs) last Saturday night at the USF Sundome Arena in Tampa, Florida and narrowly avoiding being knocked out himself in the process, WBA World welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) says he wants to face the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Shawn Porter, Amir Khan, Manny Pacquiao, Tim Bradley or Marcos Maidana.

Thurman feels he’s ready for all those guys and he says he’s willing to put his unbeaten record on the line against them if possible.

Mayweather confirms he’ll be fighting on September 12th

Floyd MayweatherBy Chris Williams: WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) has confirmed that he’ll be back inside the ring on September 12th against a still to be determined opponent. Mayweather also apologized for some of the people that are close to him. It’s unknown what was said by one of Mayweather’s insiders for him to apologize in this manner.

Before Mayweather’s statement about him fighting on September 12th, there were some boxing fans and fighters who felt that Mayweather would choose not to fight in September and instead wait around until May of 2016 to finish out his six-fight contract with Showtime in a big money rematch against Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather-Golovkin response

golovkin94By Reveriano: I recently posted an article declaring that Gennady Golovkin vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. was the only viable fight. Predictably, I got a large amount of backlash by many boxing fans. Some of it was/is very valid and some of it was extremely childish. Nonetheless, I have taken the time to properly address some issues and further expand on my main theme.

The most common response I hear when I mention this fight is that we boxing fans will never be satisfied with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (and this can apply to other fighters like Miguel Cotto and Carl Froch).

Thurman willing to prove himself against Maidana and Pacquiao to get Mayweather fight

EW5G4087(Photo credit: Lucas Noonan/Premier Boxing Champions) By Dan Ambrose: WBA World welterweight champion Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) appears to be disturbed that he’s not likely going to get the September 12th fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. no matter how good Thurman looks in his next fight against Luis Collazo (36-6, 19 KOs) this Saturday night at the USF Sundome, in Tampa, Florida, USA.

Thurman sees Mayweather more considered with making money than his legacy. He feels that if Mayweather were to fight him, he’d be showing that he’s concerned with leaving a great legacy.

Jeff Mayweather: “Keith Thurman can’t do anything for Floyd as far as PPV numbers”

IMG_4748(Photo credit: Przemek Garczarczyk) By Danny Esch: The war of words continues from members of the Floyd Mayweather camp and Keith “One Time” Thurman now on a week by week basis. Floyd Mayweather Sr. has gone on record and said that his son Floyd Mayweather Jr. would beat Keith Thurman and just recently Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe also went on record to say that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not even thinking about him (Thurman).

Uncle Jeff Mayweather has now voiced his opinion on WBA Welterweight Champion Keith “One Time” Thurman via Dontae’s Boxing Nation.

Golovkin vs. Mayweather: The only fight worth watching

golovkin55555 By Reveriano: The biggest complaint about Boxing today is that it is no longer a viable sport. Long-term boxing fans, new fans, promoters, and even boxers themselves all agree that boxing is all business. Meaning that fighters (performers) only focus is to maximize their revenue throughout their career. Leaving us the viewer/payer with only one option.

Boxers such as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto have clearly stated that their health and career is the biggest concern for them. That they do not care about what the fan wants to see.

Thurman: I deserve the Mayweather fight

IMG_4731(Photo credit: Przemek Garczarczyk) By Dan Ambrose: WBA World welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) feels that he’s proven himself in his career to where he now deserves to get a fight against WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) on September 12th.

Thurman feels like he’s justified to ask for the fight with Mayweather. Unfortunately for Thurman, his resume is rather empty of the top names at welterweight. Thurman has done a nice job of getting the middle and bottom ranked contenders at 147, but he’s not fought the top caliber guys yet.
