By William Mackay: Boxing fans had such his expectations for WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (24-0, 15 KO’s) after he annihilated Amir Khan on July 14th of this month in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some fans were hoping that the 24-year-old Garcia would agree to fight Khan in a rematch in December and put him out of his misery once and for all.

Marquez, 38, is badly in need of a fight after his hoped for rematch with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao went down the tubes with Pacquiao’s loss to Tim Bradley last weekend.

Garcia, 24, defeated the 35-year-old Morales by a 12 round unanimous decision last March in a fight where Morales looked out of shape and not really prepared for the fight.
