Morales was coming off of gallbladder surgery when he fought Garcia last March, and many boxing fans feel that the surgery kept Morales from fighting at his full ability. Garcia just wonders why did Morales take the fight then if he wasn’t at 100 percent, as he feels it wasn’t a smart thing to do. Garcia won the fight by the scores of 117-110, 116-112 and 118-109.

It might have been worse had Garcia fought with more aggressiveness, but it looked like he, for whatever reason, was showing Morales too much respect in the fight. The only time Garcia really attacked Morales was when he would get hit. Garcia would immediately retaliate with combinations that shut Morales down and put him on the defensive.

Garcia told RingTV “I’ll do my talking in the ring, and this time, I’ll stop him. I’m tired of these excuses everyone has when I win. I beat him last time and Morales never even shook my hand after the fight.”

Garcia is perhaps bolstered by his 4th round TKO win over former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan from last month. Garcia flattened Khan with a powerful left hand in the 3rd round, then knocked Khan down two more times in the 4th to get a stoppage. Garcia’s left hand did most of the work, as he was able to destroy Khan with ease once he had him hurt.

Morales, 35, hasn’t fought since losing the fight to Garcia, and there’s a high probability that he’ll retire if he gets beaten again.
