By William Mackay: 2008 super heavyweight Olympic Bronze Medalist for Great Britain David Price (2-0, 2 KO’s) took out German Liridon Memishi (0-1-1) in a 2nd round stoppage at the Seaburn Centre, Sunderland on Friday night. For the 26-year-old Price, it was his first fight in seven months since stopping David Ingleby in Price’s pro debut in March of this year. Price had little problems against Memishi, landing hard shots to the body and head and having very little thrown back at him. The fight was stopped at the end of the 2nd round by Memishi’s corner. It was a good stoppage because he was just taking punishment and not firing anything back at Price.

Is Tyson Fury the Best Heavyweight in the UK?

fury43521By Nate Anderson: No disrespect meant towards newcomer heavyweight David Haye, but I’m beginning to think that unbeaten prospect Tyson Fury (6-0, 6 KOs) might be the best heavyweight in all of the UK. I realize that the 20-year-old Fury hasn’t really beaten anyone of note other than Lee Swaby, Matthew Ellis and a handful of other low quality fighters. However, it’s the manner that Fury is dispatching them, the ease that he’s taking them out that is so impressive and what makes me feel that Fury could be the best there is.

Can Price Be Molded Into a Good Fighter?

price32345By Jim Slattengren: In looking at heavyweight David Price (1-0, 1 KOs) fight rather poorly in defeating journeyman I find myself thinking that Price perhaps has too many flaws to ever amount to anything on the pro level. A fighter with as many defeats as David Ingleby (6-25-1, 4 KOs) has on his record shouldn’t have been able to fight so competitively with Price, a bronze medalist at the 2008 Olympics. And it wasn’t just this alone. Price really looked bad against Ingleby, in particular when Price was getting nailed with shots to the head.
