2010 Boxing Predictions: Khan-Marquez, Pacquiao-Clottey, Klitschko-Chambers

Image: 2010 Boxing Predictions: Khan-Marquez, Pacquiao-Clottey, Klitschko-ChambersBy Dennis Broadhurst: Well there will hopefully be many great fights in 2010, I would like to offer my predictions to people now. Some fights may not happen and some definitely will, this article will cover some fights that are in talks and some that have already been announced.

1) The first fight I would like to mention is Pacquiao vs Clottey. I don’t think Clottey has big enough power to stop Pacquiao and doesn’t have the workrate to beat him by points, I see this fight being competitive for four or five rounds but then Pacquiao to take control and end things around round 11.

Shumenov win over Campillo wasn’t that controversial

Image: Shumenov win over Campillo wasn’t that controversialBy Dave Lahr: I honestly don’t know what all the crying and bellyaching is about with the Beibut Shumenov (9-1, 6 KO’s) 12 round split decision win over World Boxing Association light heavyweight champion Gabriel Campillo (19-3, 6 KO’s) on Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. I had Shumenov winning by a round or two. Shumenov landed the much harder shots all the way through it and was the busier fighter during most of the first six rounds of the fight.

Shumenov did clearly faded in the last six rounds of the fight, but I still had him winning two of the last six rounds, which was more than enough to squeeze out a 12 round decision. That’s not to say that Shumenov looked good, because I thought he looked horrible. Shumenov has no stamina whatsoever, fights in a robotic, mechanical way, has little hand speed and like I said, his stamina is plain awful.

That would be an interesting fight except that Berto already fought a light welterweight in his last fight, beating Juan Urango by a 12 round lopsided decision in May.

Who should Ricky Hatton fight next?

By Sean McDaniel: Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KO’s) says he’s going to come back for one more fight in June. Although looking at how heavy that Hatton, 31, has become, it’s hard to imagine him ever fighting again. His once slim physique is now coated with a generous amount of fat. Hatton says that he wants to come back for a fight in June against either one of the champions or a pound for pound fighter.
