Billy Jo Saunders: A man without a fight
By Angel Flowers: Billy Jo Saunders: Nowhere to turn
Poor Billy Jo Saunders, in today’s boxing world he finds himself with nowhere to turn despite being champion. Saunders is the undefeated middleweight champion from the U.K. and should be a star by now but finds himself having a lack of quality fights. Sure there are tough fights out there, he could move up to super middleweight or take on a string of hard punching slick boxers in his own division but none of those situations will garner him any type of respect.

Golovkin injured says Saunders’ promoter
By Dan Ambrose: Frank Warren, the promoter for WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, says the negotiations with IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin are presently up in the air due in part to the Kazakhstan fighter being injured. Golovkin’s injury is holding up him signing the contract for the Saunders fight. Some boxing fans might believe that this is a stalling tactic by Golovkin and his team to give them more time to negotiate a fight against Saul Canelo Alvarez. Team Golovkin should already know by now whether they’ll be able to get a fight against Canelo in September.
Is Loeffler too eager for Canelo-Golovkin fight?
By Allan Fox: K2 promoter Tom Loeffler says he’s still in contact with Saul Canelo Alvarez’s promoters at Golden Boy, but it doesn’t sound like he’s made any progress in the negotiations. Loeffler he’s still willing to do anything to get the Canelo-Golovkin fight made. He says that Golovkin can’t base his career on a fight that hasn’t been agreed to against Canelo. Loeffler might need to move on at this point and make the unification match between GGG and WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, because it does not sound like the Canelo fight is going to happen at this point.

By Dan Ambrose: Gennady “GGG” Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler is making Saul Canelo Avlarez the top priority in in trying to put together a big fight with him for September over another fight with WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders. Loeffler says Golden Boy not blocking Golovkin-Saunders fight
By Allan Fox: Tom Loeffler says Golden Boy Promotions hasn’t told him that his fighter Gennady “GGG” Golovkin cannot take a unification fight against WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders in June. Loeffler is in negotiations with Golden Boy, and that hasn’t come up in their discussions. Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya recently said that Golovkin vs. Saunders would jeopardize the Canelo-Golovkin fight for September because of the potential for injury for Golovkin, and the delay it could cause the promotion for the fight.
