By Jim Dower: EBU heavyweight champion Alexander Dimitrenko (30-1, 20 KO’s) has an important fight on Saturday against Polish heavyweight Alberto Sosnowski (46-3-1, 28 KO’s) at the Sport and Congress Center, Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Besides this being a defense of his European Boxing Union title, it could lead to a fight against one of the Klitschko brothers for Dimitrenko should he win. He’s got a lot riding on this fight and he can’t afford another slip up like the one he suffered in his 12 round majority decision loss to Eddie Chambers last year in July.
Alexander Dimitrenko
Chisora and Dimitrenko the leading candidates for Wladimir Klitschko’s next fight
By Dan Ambrose: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) still hasn’t conclusively decided who he plans on fighting next on December 11th, according to boxing news from Dan Rafael. However, Klitschko has narrowed it down to British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion Derek Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) and EBU heavyweight champion Alexander Dimitrenko (30-1, 20 KO’s). Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente said if Klitschko can’t arrange a fight with either Dimitrenko or Chisora, then they will attempt to put together a fight with 38-year-old former WBC cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck (35-4, 22 KO’s) of France.
Wladimir Klitschko could be facing Solis, Boytsov, Adamek or Tua next
By Eric Thomas: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) wants to squeeze in one last fight before the end of the year in December against a number of possible opponents, according to fight news. The following heavyweights are being considered for Klitschko’s next fight: Tomasz Adamek, Odlanier Solis, David Tua, Tony Thompson, Denis Boytsov and Alexander Dimitrenko. However, not all of those heavyweights will be available in December and some may be reluctant to face Wladimir right now.
Should Adamek fight another big heavyweight before the Klitschkos? Maybe Dimitrenko
By Jim Dower: It’s been pretty much established already that Tomasz Adamek failed to make a case for himself as a worthy contender for one of the Klitschko brothers after Adamek went life and death with a washed up 38-year-old Michael Grant last Saturday night at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey. Adamek won the fight by a 12 round unanimous decision, which was a good thing. But what wasn’t good was the fact sight of Adamek getting hurt multiple times by Grant in the fight. If this was supposed to be a warm-up for the Klitschko brothers, then I think Adamek may need another warm-up bout against one more big heavyweight so that he show improvement and hopefully look good enough to where boxing fans will give him a chance to beat one of the Klitschko brothers.
Boytsov, Banks, Dimitrenko and Mormeck candidates for IBF tournament to face Wladimir Klitschko
By Chris Williams: In the latest boxing news, the IBF sanctioning bodies is putting together another tournament to pick a fighter to challenge International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s). This isn’t the first time that the IBF has done this, as they did in 2008 with Chris Byrd, Alexander Povetkin, Calvin Brock and Eddie Chambers. Povtkin ended up winning the tournament and yet never took the opportunity to fight Klitschko.
Dimitrenko calling out Audley Harrison for a fight
By Jason Kim: If European Boxing Union (EBU) heavyweight champion Audley Harrison (27-4, 20 KO’s) wants to get a shot against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko or his brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, then Harrison is going to have to go through first 6’7″ Ukrainian Alexander Dimitrenko (29-1, 19 KO’s), who is seen here calling Harrison out for a fight. Dimitrenko, 27, is Harrison’s mandatory challenger for his EBU title and if Harrison wants to get pushed up quickly in the rankings, there’s no better way than by beating Dimitrenko in an impressive fashion. Dimitrenko is currently ranked #6 by the IBF and #8 by the WBO. Harrison could do himself a lot of good by healing up, agreeing to fight Dimitrenko and then beating him as soon as possible.
Audley Harrison to fight in September, possibly against Dimitrenko
By Sean McDaniel: EBU heavyweight champion Audley Harrison (27-4, 20 KO’s) could be fighting mandatory European Boxing Union challenger Alexander Dimitrenko (29-1, 19 KO’s) in September, according to the latest boxing news. Harrison says he wants to defend the EBU title, which he won with an exciting 12th round knockout over Michael Sprott last Friday night. However, Harrison will have to first recover from his torn right pectoral muscle which he suffered in the 2nd round in his fight against Sprott. The injury will require surgery and then rehabilitation after that.

Wladimir Klitschko to fight either Chambers or Povetkin Next – News
By Erik Schmidt: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) has yet to let on who his next opponent will be for December 13th. It was thought that Wladimir would be fighting his International Boxing Federation mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin next but it may not necessarily turn out to be the case now. Klitschko, 33, recently made mention of being interested in fighting his WBO number #1 mandatory challenger Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) first rather than Povetkin.
Chambers Not Impressive in Beating Dimitrenko
By Chris Williams Count me in as the lone voice of reason as far as heavyweight Eddie Chambers’ (35-1, 18 KO’s) 12-round majority decision victory over World Boxing Organization heavyweight contender Alexander Dimitrenko (29-1, 19 KO’s) on Saturday night at the Color Line Arena, in Hamburg, Germany. It’s good for Chambers to get the victory; I’ll give him that, because it does put him in as the mandatory challenger for WBO title holder Wladimir Klitschko for a fight sometime in 2010.
