Boxing’s Biggest Winners & Losers!

The Days of the over 100 wins boxers is no longer possible due to fighting only several times a year, unlike some over twenty times a year in the past.

Per New Jersey’s Hall of Fame, President Henry Hascup’s winners list Len Wickar with a record of 340-87-43 and will probably always be No. 1.

From Leicester, Leicestershire, UK, boxing from 1928 to 1947 as a lightweight.

Second is Billy Bird, with a record of 260-73-20, from Chelsea, London, UK, boxing from 1920 to 1948 as a welterweight.

Third is Wildcat “The Golden Sandstorm” Monte, with a record of 231-53-30, from Wichita Falls, Kansas, boxing from 1923 to 1947 as a lightweight.

Fourth is Willie “Will o’ the Wisp” Pep, with a record of 229-11-1, out of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, two-time Word Featherweight champion, boxing from 1940 to 1966.

Some 134 boxers have won 100 or more fights.

In more modern times two-time WBC Lightweight champion Jose “El Zurdo” Luis Ramirez, with a record 102-9-1, from Culican, Sinaloa, Mexico, boxing from 1973 to 1990.

Four-time world champion Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran with a record of 103-16, from 1968 to 2001, from Panama City, Panama.

Three-time world champion Julio “J.C.” Chavez, with a record 107-6-2, from 1980 to 2005, from Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Three who retired as undefeated world champions are first Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr., with a record of 50-0, boxing from 1996 to 2017, from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Second, World Heavyweight champion Rocky “The Brockton Blockbuster” Marciano, with a record of 49-0, boxing from 1947 to 1955, from Brockton, Massachusetts.

Third Super Welterweight champion “Pride of Wales” Calzaghe, with a record of 46-0, boxing from 1993 to 2008, from Newbridge, Wales, UK.

From my personal 100 lost list is Kristian “Mr. Reliable” Laight, with a record of 12-279-9, boxing from 2003 to 2011, from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK.

Second is Reggie Strickland, with a record of 66-276-18, boxing from 1987 to 1992, from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Still active at the top is Fonz Alexander, with a record 8-161-1, from 2014 to March 2024, from Newark, Nottinghamshire, UK.
Next is Mazen Girke, with a record of 15-156-6, from 2002 to March of 2024, from Mitte, Berlin, Germany.
