Tyson Fury’s Back (For Now): Will He Fight or Take Flight?

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was seen jogging today with a pack of his team, training for his rescheduled fight against IBF/WBA/WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk on May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

As usual, Fury is running his mouth. His recent gem? “Nine weeks until Usyk gets f***ing battered.” Boxing fans are sick of this circus. Fury needs to get this thing over, even if he’s schooled from A to B by Usyk.

Injury Watch: The Real Main Event

What people really want to know isn’t whether Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) will win the fight but what injury he’ll suffer this time around for the next postponement.

The man’s got more mysterious injuries than a soap opera character. At 35, Fury’s body seems to be held together with duct tape and wishful thinking.

Fans believe Fury wants out of this fight with the talented Usyk and will do anything to prevent him from facing him. Tyson has already twice postponed the fight, which is all you need to know about his fear of this guy.

People are just waiting for Fury’s inevitable pullout and the obligatory injury excuse. It’ll be interesting to see what His Excellency Turki Alalshikh does. Will he continue to indulge Fury, or will he finally understand that he doesn’t want this fight and finally wash his hands of this mess?

Scaredy-Cat or Calculated Genius?

The brave image Fury puts up is a mere smokescreen for his worry. This is a different type of fighter than anyone The Gyspy King has fought before and knows it. Is he terrified of Usyk?

Fury won’t be able to clinch & wrestle Usyk like he did Deontay Wilder x 3. Usyk will take Fury to school, outbox him, and ruin his hopes of a lucrative two-fight deal with Anthony Joshua.

People want this trainwreck of a fight over once and for all. It’s gone on too long already. It won’t be the end of the world for Fury if he’s humiliated by Usyk because it’s a two-fight deal, and he’ll get another chance to redeem himself. It probably won’t matter, but at least he can try.
