Tim Tszyu’s Team Confident of Victory Over Terence Crawford

Glen Jennings, the manager for WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu, says the team is confident they’ll defeat mandatory Terence Crawford if the fight happens after their defense this Saturday, Marco 30th, in Las Vegas.

Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) needs to win his fight against Sebastian Fundora in their headliner on Prime PPV. From there, Tszyu will potentially defend against Crawford next unless the native of Ohama, Nebraska, changes his mind about wanting to fight him.

Crawford is unlikely to change his mind about fighting Tszyu because the money is good, and he doesn’t have any better payday options right now.

If Canelo Alvarez showed interest, Crawford would forget about Tszyu and head North to battle the popular Mexican star for a massive payday. That will probably not happen, so Tszyu is Crawford’s best shot at a big payday.

Jennings: “We’ll Win That Fight”

“So, we believe if Tim is given the opportunity to fight Terence Crawford, we’ll win that fight. There’s no doubt in his camp that we’re not here other than to take everything,” said Glen Jennings, the manager of WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu, to the Jai McAllister YouTube channel.

Given Crawford’s inactivity, his boxing fans will blame a loss to Tszyu on ring rust from a year of inactivity. Ideally, Crawford should take a tune-up at 154 to prepare himself for the Tszyu fight, but he can’t do that. Tszyu will face someone else, and who knows who that would be.

“Crawford has put his hand up. This means technically, they can try and enforce their mandatory five days after the fight. We have to start negotiating,” said Jennings.

Defying Expectations

“The boxing world will say that Crawford is too good for Tszyu. Everyone said that up to date. They’ve all said it. We believe and Terence Crawford’s team believes Tim Tszyu is the best 154 in the world. There’s credit and stock behind it. That’s not talk and making up the numbers,” said Jennings.
