Ryan Garcia Predicts Huge PPV Success and Wants to KO Devin Haney With Right Hand

Ryan Garcia predicts 1.5 to 2 million PPV buys for his fight against WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney on April 20th on DAZN pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New New York.

If those numbers hold, Haney vs. Garcia will bring in more PPV buys than Ryan’s fight against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis last April. That fight, which sold for $84.99 on Showtime PPV, brought in 1.2 million buys.

It’s difficult to predict whether the April 20th fight will do big numbers because the second press conference for the Haney-Garcia fight was shipwrecked by Bill Haney’s outing Ryan’s dad, Henry Garcia, about wearing a toupee.

When Henry told Bill he had nappy hair, Devin accused him of racism. Bill and Henry’s verbal exchanges ruined the whole press conference, which didn’t involve much promotion.

In the weeks since then, Ryan’s behavior has been very strange, making some fans believe he’s gone insane, which obviously can’t be good for attracting PPV buys. The good news is that Ryan is now back to normal, but he needs to make up for the time he lost when he was acting strangely.

Predicting Major PPV Sales

“I think it’ll break the draw date. I mean, PPV buys. 1.5 [million], or I might mess around and get 2,” said Ryan Garcia to the DAZN Boxing YouTube site about his April 20th fight against WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney.

“I already knew that was going to happen. Regis is slow. He started boxing late. He don’t have it like that. I already knew he was going to beat him easy,” said Ryan about Haney’s recent win over WBC light welterweight champion Regis Prograis on December 9th last year.

“I don’t think Ryan has got much better since the amateurs. Ryan fights the same way. Obviously, he’s gotten bigger and stronger, but it’s the same thing,” said Haney. “I think he’s a one-trick pony.”

Ryan’s Right Hand Threats

“It’s just annoying because he’s using that Tank s***,” said Ryan. “Have I knocked out anybody with a right hand? You’ll be the first one.”

“No, I won’t,” said Haney.

“I’ll be funny if I knock you out with a right hand. How hilarious will that be?” said Ryan. “‘He only has a left hook.’ Boom [right hand].”

“What if I knock you out with a left hook?” said Haney.

“That would be comedy. I would make a reel about it,” said Ryan. “What happens if I knock you out with a right hand?”

“It won’t happen,” said Haney.

“You’re being delusional. You know there’s a chance it could happen, right?” said Ryan. “Are you going to lie? Now, you’re lying. I’m telling you the truth that’s a possibility.”
