‘Day of Reckoning’, Saturday 23rd December, as part of Riyadh Season will be available live on DAZN and TNT Sports Box Office.

Kiwi heavyweight titan Junior Fa from Otahuhu, New Zealand, is lacing up his gloves for a rumble in the desert against the unbeaten Cuban sensation Frank Sanchez. This 10-round clash is part of the “Day of Reckoning” extravaganza, featuring Anthony Joshua and Otto Wallin in the main event. The whole shebang unfolds in Saudi Arabia, kicking off at 11:00 am EST on DAZN Pay-Per-View. DiBella Entertainment and Warriors Boxing are the puppet masters behind this pugilistic puppet show.

Fa (20-2, 11 KOs), fresh from sending Tussi Asafo to dreamland in the first round down under, is itching for another ring dance. Sanchez (23-0, 16 KOs), last seen flooring Scott Alexander before stopping him in the fourth to keep his shiny WBC Continental Americas belt, is no pushover.

“It’s been a blast being here,” Fa gushes about his Saudi Arabian adventure, “Feels like this is where the boxing circus has pitched its tent. I’m soaking it all up. It’s been a grind to get here, but I’m buzzing for Saturday. I’m ready to throw down and give Sanchez a taste of Kiwi power.”

“Sanchez? Sure, he’s got moves, but I’ve got my team, my plan, and myself. I’m hitting my stride at the perfect moment. I’m bringing the A-game and plan to send him packing. Victory? It’s in the bag, by hook or by crook.”

Prepping for this showdown, Fa’s been sharpening his tools in Deontay Wilder’s workshop for his own scrap with Joseph Parker on the same card.

“Deontay Wilder, that guy’s a sledgehammer,” admits Fa. “You gotta be on your toes every tick of the clock with him. That’s my playbook for Sanchez. Stay sharp, stick to the script, and nab that win.”

Lou DiBella, the big cheese at DiBella Entertainment, is all praise for Fa. “Junior’s got the chops, the height, and the toolkit of a top heavyweight. He’s already duked it out with the best, like Joseph Parker, for 12 grueling rounds. Against Sanchez, he’s got a golden shot to show he’s in the heavyweight elite league.”

Fa, who’s been Wilder’s sparring buddy, got a call from Wilder’s coach, Jay Deas, asking if he’d come spar again for Wilder’s upcoming rumble with Parker. At that point, Fa joining the card was just a pipe dream. He kept mum but spilled the beans to his coaches at Auckland’s City Kickboxing gym, who joked about getting Fa a slot on the card.

Then, bam! Only a few hours later, Fa’s phone rings again. It’s his manager, Mark Keddell, with an offer Fa couldn’t refuse – a fight with Sanchez on the same card. Fa, who’s been in a bit of a slump, training but kind of losing steam, couldn’t believe his ears. “It’s crazy, bro, crazy,” he said, noting the lightning speed of the deal and the truckload of cash involved in making such a quick arrangement happen, especially in Saudi Arabia.

For Fa, this isn’t just a fight; it’s a golden ticket back to the big leagues. After a shock KO loss to Lucas Browne booted him from the top 15, a win against Sanchez, a top contender from Cuba known for his slick, technical style, could catapult Fa right back up the rankings.

Fa’s now hunkering down in Alabama with Wilder’s camp to prepare. He’s under no illusions about what he’s up against with Sanchez, acknowledging the Cuban’s superior technical skills. “I’m just being real,” Fa said, laying out his plan to shake things up and turn the fight into a brawl, playing to his strengths. It’s a classic David versus Goliath scenario, and Fa’s ready to sling his shot.
