Joshua & Hearn “Put up or shut-up’ says Team Fury for June fight

By Charles Brun: John Fury posted a message on social media on Friday letting Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua know that Tyson Fury is ready to rock for June, and he’ll take AJ as his “warm-up” fight. John looked nervous and worked up during his post. Something is clearly eating away at the guy.

This is an odd about-face from Team Fury, as they’ve been dropping hints lately that they might go in an opposite direction from Joshua. Whatever John says is useless because fans already think Fury is getting cold feet about fighting AJ.

It’s completely obvious why John chose to put this message out on social media. With the way that WBC heavyweight champion Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) has been bellyaching about not being happy about him not getting a tune-up fight before the Joshua fight, boxing fans believe Tyson has lost his nerve.

Fans already think Fury is losing his nerve

Seeing things in that light, it’s utterly predictable that John Fury would come out with his Instagram post today to dress things up and send the message the Tyson is ready to fight Joshua in June.

It doesn’t matter what John says, though, because we already know Fury is stressed, and highly nervous about the prospects of fighting Joshua coming off a year and a half layoff. Fury last fought in February 2020, beating Deontay Wilder by a seventh-round knockout.

That wasn’t even a fight, though, as Wilder out of it from the third round after getting hit with a rabbit punch by Fury to the back of the head.

“This is a video to Eddie Hearn and all his supporters of AJ. We’re not bothered about Anthony Joshua one iota,” said Fury’s dad John Fury on Instagram on Friday.

“Here’s what he [Joshua] can do. If he wants to fight in June, get it ready, Eddie. We’ll take him as a warm-up fight. We value Anthony Joshua that much, we’ll take him as a warm-up fight in June.”

John saying that Fury isn’t “bothered about Anthony Joshua” isn’t believable. Fury is clearly bothered by him because if he wasn’t, why would he be making a big production about his need for a warm-up fight.

Fury’s complaining about not getting a tune-up, and is a cry for help. He doesn’t want the fight with Joshua now and knows when he’ll be mentally ready. Mentally, Fury isn’t ready for this fight, which is why he keeps banging on about wanting a tune-up.

It’s too bad John can’t fight Tyson’s battle for him against Joshua because he talks a good game, but it’s going to take more than that for him to win.

John Fury: Tyson will “take” Joshua in June

“So get your a** in gear, get everything needs to get done, and we’ll take him in June,” said John Fury to Joshua.

“We’ll have the first fight with him because Tyson is fighting twice this year. We’d like AJ to be the first one on the butcher’s block.”

It’s too late, John. People already think Fury doesn’t want it and doesn’t matter what you say. Heck, John Fury can put out 100 social media posts saying that Tyson is ready for AJ, and fans aren’t going to believe it.

They’ve already seen the worry in Fury’s face and they can tell from his words that he’s having second thoughts about fighting Joshua.

“So get your a** in gear, mate. Wave your magic wand and let’s get this fight started because no one is bothered about you or AJ in any way shape or form,” said John.

“AJ first on the chopping block in June. If you can’t put up, shut up. Do that,” said John Fury in his message to Joshua and Fury.
