Fury doesn’t care if he loses to Wladimir

fury72By Scott Gilfoid: After making a bundle of cash in barely beating former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko by a 12 round decision last November, Britain’s [or is it Ireland’s] Tyson Fury says he doesn’t care what happens with his career.

Fury says he doesn’t care if he loses his next 10 fights because he’s satisfied with his victory over the 40-year-old Klitschko from his win over him last November. Normally, I would think Fury isn’t on the level about him not carrying, but in looking at how fat and flabby he’s become, I think he honestly doesn’t seem to care.

Fury appears to be at least 30 pounds overweight right now, which means he’s got three months to try and carve that blubber off his frame before he faces Wladimir in their rematch on July 9 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK. I’m just wondering what Fury has been eating to get so fat in such a short period of time. He looks like he’s been eating really well.

“I think so, yeah, because now I’m the champion. I’ve got more pressure on me,” Fury said about how he has pressure on him now for the rematch against Wladimir instead of like last time he fought him. “Before I was expected to lose and there was no pressure. Everything was a bonus. Now they know I can win. I won’t feel the pressure because it’s just a boxing match. If I was going to feel the pressure, I would have felt it in front of 50,000 Germans in Dusseldorf. So I’m not going to feel the pressure in front of 20,000 Brits. He’s got to knock me out this time. He didn’t manage to do it last time. He nearly did a couple of times, but he didn’t wuite. But if he’s going to be success this time, he’s got to knock me out. It’s good because I wasn’t going to go back go Germany no matter what. I’m very happy to have home advantage. Happy days, I’m young, very rich, a millionaire, and I’m good looking. After I beat Klitschko, I don’t care what happens. If I lose my next ten fights, I really don’t care. I’ve already one what I’ve got to do. All this is just a bonus. More spending money. I really don’t care if I win, lose or draw. But I’m going to go and put a fight up,” said Fury.

Fury’s training camp is going to be a fat farm for the Klitschko rematch. When you’ve put on the kind of lard that Fury has put on, you can’t train properly until you melt that blubber off. The thing is it’s going to take months for the weight to come off. As such, I think Fury won’t be in good shape to train until the last part of training camp.

It almost looks like Fury is putting himself in a situation where he’ll have a built in excuse if he gets whipped by Wladimir. Instead of Fury just coming clean that he was beaten by the better fighter, he’ll be able to say that the weight that he put on made it impossible to train correctly because he had to carve the fat off first before he could even begin serious training. It’s too bad Fury doesn’t keep in shape year round like the talented Deontay Wilder. He never gets out of shape because he cares about his craft.
